He only talks about the movie at the beginning. The rest of the interview is about his career. He says what we already knew - there were only 16 days of shooting left when they were forced to shut down production. They were lucky that all the exterior filming and the scenes with animals were already completed. He also says that everyone was eager to continue filming anyway, but of course they couldn’t.

I think I heard another inrterview because the one I listened is about the production, how Jane Campion addressed the work, it was very interesting.
I have to listen to it again because my French is a bit rusty.

Thanks to the people who did this! I don't know who that Depardieux is so I decided to firmely believe that it was Gerard Depardieu who recommended the book!

-The plan seems to be to release the movie at Cannes but she isn't sure it will be ready because the Covid-19 delay.
-She is now taking some days off and then the plan is to go to Australia to do the editing BUT Australia is having some problems with the Covid-19 again so she maybe will edit the film at home
-She talks about her female protagonists but says she is very happy having now a male protagonist for the first time that it's actually very masculine.
-She also says that she is against the idea that artists must be forbidden to represent cultures that aren't their own and that she is actually doing that right now with TPOTD, because it's about American ranchers and that even if she fails, it should be the intention what really matters.
It's all around a very interesting interview with very measured and smart opinions about the Me Too movement, feminism, Harvey Weinstein and even Woody Allen.
EDITED the author mixes up Dom Winslow with Thomas Savage. At some point he quotes Campion saying she wants to honor Winslow and that she met with his decendents!

I hope one of them changes their name, to avoid confusion. Actually when reading the book, I didn't understand the significance of the title.

An interesting talk with writer Ellen Cheshire about Jane Campion’s career at 2:17 but kind of disappointed at her for not knowing that Campion indeed has a new next project and that she is doing in the middle of the pandemic! www.abc.net.au/radio/programs/overnights/overnights/12524500She wrote a book about Campion which it's not very deep but it's accessible and informative about her whole career, including her college years shorts. I hope next year Netflix do a lot of publicity for the movie because there's not too much talk about it at least in social media (the pseudo interest for female filmmakers is more performative than real so the interest rarely goes beyond than applauding when some female director is hired by Marvel). Maybe it's just because we are (obsessive?) fans but it's kind of surprising that an academic who promotes Campion’s work doesn't know she is working in a new film and that the shooting is now completed. EDITED, I propose The Courier II: Die with a Vengeance as TPOTD new title! 😉 I understand Don Winslow series of books will be adopted for a series so probably they would find a new title for the whole thing. Anyway, Thomas Savage wrote his book first and thankfully it seems Campion’s film will be released first so we win! 😉
