The music in Sherlock has always been one the things that made me love the show. So it was interesting to see this tweet from Michael Giacchino, the composer of the Doctor Strange music. I tweeted almost the exact same thing to David Arnold and Michael Price after seeing TFP at the theatre.
Make sure you follow the entire exchange among the three composers!

Totally agree with Giacchino here. The music in the last scene of TFP is my favorite piece of music in Sherlock since Irene's theme, and ranks high overall in any TV score.

Ahhh! David Arnold just liked my tweet about Sherlock’s music!
It’s kind of funny because yesterday I got a notification that it was my tenth Twitter anniversary. They said I should delebrate with a tweet, but I didn’t. I spend a lot of time reading tweets, but I rarely tweet anything myself. So I will consider this my little anniversary gift from DA!

Even after all these years, this music is as thrilling as it was the first time I heard it. And I still can’t listen to it without playing the drums in the air.

Sherlock composer Michael Price has a new Spotify playlist. It’s a sort of greatest hits from his projects, including Sherlock. The last song, from The Final Problem, is one of my favourites - the gorgeous song that begins with Sherlock and Eurus playing the violin together, and then transforms into the Sherlock music.

Sherlock Suite, posted on youtube by Michael Price. I love this music - I could listen to it all day. It makes me so happy!
I had this crazy thought that Michael Price has Sherlock on his mind a lot recently because maybe he’s working on the music for S5? (Wishful thinking)

Thank you mllemass, I too love this music, especially the violin duo. I find it amazing just how many themes' actually suit the actors.
Have any of you heard of Murray Gold? He wrote the music for Doctor who - wonderful work.

It worries me that they’re talking about Sherlock in the past tense!
