This is interesting,
They were waiting for a higher positive consensus for The Hand of God than TPOTD because social media reactions by Oscar pundits but no matter what they think of themselves, award pundits aren’t professional critics. Although, I have to say that consensus isn’t necessarily “better”.
Also this bizarre account! Lol
I guess that person isn’t a Campion fan! Lol

Should we be worried? This Turkish “Film Critic” and “Oscar Expert” didn’t like it. Ha!

I’m not worried. Some people are bound to hate it.

I don’t think any “Oscar expert” should be taken seriously. They are gamblers and most of them don’t like and don’t watch artistic films. They like Oscar flicks. Anything too daring or too difficult would obviously bother them,
The big example of their irrelevance is what happened today! It’s just a shame that’s always them the first who “reaction” and make a big deal with posting their “opinion” out there to the world to see. Theirs is most often than not, an uniformed and uneducated opinion but they are the first ones so they are now quoted by fools like some kind of authority… until the embargoes ends, obviously!

Great news all around! I'd be interested to see the one negative review about BC. Also, I wonder if everyone saying it's his best role ever, have seen all of his roles?
I expected it to be fantastic, but have a more mixed critical reaction. It's pretty much universal acclaim!
I read a thread about it on Gold Derby last night, and was surprised at the support for BC compared to his TIG days. They didn't even like him in Patrick Melrose! Then somebody reported the first two reactions - a 5 star and a 1 star, from random viewers - and one poster said something to the effect of "it's over for Cumberbatch, and I'm happy to see it." Wondering what he is saying today, ha!

Some of the leaders there adopted him like “their horse” early on so they were now their defenders.
I stopped visiting them two days before the premiere and I don’t plan to return. I’m happier this way! Lol They are about awards and maybe they are right, The film seems to be more complex and daring than your typical Oscar flick. It’s not an Oscar film. It could do well with critics awards and hopefully Venice jury but probably it’s more difficult with your standard Oscar voter, Some of the new more diverse and more international voters could help it but by the old parameters seems more difficult.

And more reviews, this is a little critical of the way Campion managed the ending but I like what it says about BC’s performance: birdmenmagazine.com/2021/09/03/power-dog-recensione-venezia/It says that he did a continuous work of construction and deconstruction of his character finding some romanticism in his violence. It sounds nice! Especially in Italian! Lol

This is in Spanish and it’s very positive but interesting enough, he portrays the film as a love story between Phil and Peter,
