I don't think there is a fued between Amanda and BC. They seem to get on ok. But, for whatever reason, she did post some rather nasty tweets in relation to him.

So she's a little passive aggressive. It could have been something innocuous like Martin coming home exasperated from an interview and saying, "why do they ALWAYS ask about Ben?" Then she's miffed and says something a little snarky.
I don't know her from a hole in the wall on a personal level, so I can't say if she's kinda snotty or not. She does have that English thing of saying some pretty outrageous stuff and not meaning anything by it.
Although at Sherlock last year she was hugging the heck out of Ben. (Lucky girl!) 😃

Milemass I don't know if you're trying to imply that Magda and myself are among those people who "Were not interested in context but in jumping on isolated tweets." But if so I can only say you are mistaken. I did read them in context and I still think they were nasty. What I'm saying is believing there is a feud between Amanda and Benedict sounds a lot like believing there is a feud between Martin and Benedict. I don't think either one is true. Amanda tweets every day, and I think she has handled the Sherlock situation very well considering the reaction from fans who think Johnlock was ruined because of her. I agree with Mllemass. I think AA got a really rough ride originally about her role in Sherlock (from a lot of JLers especially) and some fans have been very quick to jump on almost anything she says since (and no, I am not saying that Ellie or Magda are one of those, I am just saying I have seen a fair number of fans tear AA a new one over what I see as completely innocent sounding tweets). She does seem a bit acerbic for a lot of people's tastes but I never found anything she said particularly nasty (although I think Twitter is especially prone to very subjective interpretations so many may have a completely different view of her tweets). And I totally get the part about "seeing" problems between AA and BC paralleling the whole "trouble" between BC and MF thing. This is why I am really glad BC isn't a participant on social media. I really don't see any good in that kind of thing at all. If someone is tweeting opinions there is always some someone out there just waiting to leap all over it with a campaign to "correct" them or you just get a lot of fluff from them that doesn't bring any real insight anyway. The best that can be said is that the celebrity can support good causes, but then they can do that anyway (as BC has proven) and stay away from personal twitter accounts. :-))

I think that Martin used to be on Twitter (that was before my time) but gave it up because he's too outspoken. Amanda also is outspoken, but she has remained on social media. But even in interviews, Martin has become a lot more careful about what he says because it's all being closely analyzed by Sherlock fans. He said once that hates disappointing fans by telling them that he and Benedict are not best friends outside the show. He seems to understand why the fantasy of that friendship is important to some people, and he's even ok with the fanfiction and fan art. The only time I've seen him annoyed is when interviewers ask him about always playing the "everyman" in his roles. I've never seen him bothered that Benedict is considered a bigger star on the show. Surely, he can't be surprised that Sherlock is the star of Sherlock!

I don't think he is bothered that BC is the bigger star in Sherlock. MF himself said "the show is not called John." It is I suppose possible that he might be slightly envious that BC's movie career has been more successful than his: The Hobbit didn't really advance MF's career that much. But I've not seen any evidence of jealousy on MF's part. Really I don't think there's any "frostiness" between him and BC. They're just not friends out of work that's all.

But I've not seen any evidence of jealousy on MF's part. Really I don't think there's any "frostiness" between him and BC. They're just not friends out of work that's all. And as LB stated in her interview there are different levels of "friendship" and it is perfectly normal that two colleagues be "friendly" on set but have no outside relationship. It isn't an indication of hatred or "frostiness" at all. There is all the respect and cooperation that is needed to work together - what more does there need to be? I think the problem is when certain fans think that there should be more. They think that the two of them should be best friends outside of work as well (like the characters of Sherlock and John are). They imagine that there is a "Freebatch" relationship in real life (and they use real life photos and interviews to "prove" it). They interpret things to be B/W extremes... if there isn't "Freebatch" love, then that means there is no "relationship" between them at all - and that is now a devastating situation!!!! Whereas in real life people can have a great working relationship with someone on the job and yet not take that "friendship" beyond the work environment. Doesn't diminish the working relationship at all. It means that it is a work oriented friendship. There are some people who are in both spheres, of course. Obviously Louise B., Andrew S. and Tom H. are people who BC has worked with AND were invited to Sophie's and his wedding. They are among a small group who have bridged both work and personal situations. We all have that in our own lives. I had many great relationships when I was working - people I even felt very close to when I was at work, and yet they never were a part of my home life world. Didn't like them any less - just differently. And I did have one or two who I liked at work and then for some reason, it just clicked differently and they were also part of my personal friends when I was away from work as well. That's just life. :-))

Exactly. Just because you enjoy working with someone and like them in that environment doesn't mean you'd suit each other as friends outside work. For example I work with a great guy who I'm really fond of but his outside work interests are heavy metal music (which I hate) and Japanese graphic novels (which aren't my thing either) so we just don't have enough in common to extend our friendship beyond work.
Same with BC & MF, both very talented, highly professional actors but very different types of people.
However MF and AA were invited to BC's wedding. AA confirmed it on Twitter when asked directly. Don't know why they didn't go. Maybe their relationship was going through dificulties even then. I doubt their decision to split up happened quickly.

OMG, now some fans are accusing Loo of queer bashing. She can handle herself, but I do wish they'd shut up and get over it. It's tedious.

I don't see where they could connect anything she said to "queerbashing" - really. And by "fans" do you mean Sherlock fans, BC fans, Johnlock fans?? I am not on Twitter or Tumblr - where is this happening?? This is tedious on their part to just go around attacking people who have a public track record of supporting diversity of all kinds. Surely they have a more productive way to channel their feelings. Honestly it is just getting ridiculous and makes them look like Internet bullies in my book. :-))

Twitter. I'm so tired of this, of them, of how they are ruining any chance of another season, most likely.
Did no one teach them, when they were small, that you don't always like what happens but not to harass and bully those who have a different opinion. Sheesh.
