How resentful can be Oscar fanboys? Well, today Redmayne won an Olivier for Cabaret and he was accused of having a failed career (the same account happily retweeted that Jessie Buckley won Bets Actress for the same play!). The tweet was liked and commented by a lot of people agreeing with it!
I mean, you can like him and his movies or not but how can someone said his career failed after the Oscar? He was nominated again the next year and was in a multiple award nominated movie just last year! It seems very deluded to me to say his career was negatively affected by the award!
It seems his until recently very popular franchise wouldn’t be a big hit with the last one. We will see! But now, I can imagine all these people “confirming” their very clear biases against him! He will still have a career after it! I mean he just won an Oliver! His second one!

I think, on top of the Oscar that everyone believes he stole from Keaton (or Cumberbatch if you ask our circle ), the internet hates that he's in the Harry Potter franchise. Funny story - back in 2015, my sister was a huge fangirl for him, so we had a friendly rivalry when Oscars season came around. She may have won that battle, but I won the war when our mother admitted to us she found Redmayne ugly, and BC quite handsome In any case, I always like when actors return to the stage, so good on him for winning the Olivier.
