I have a soft spot for Carlos. I think he's honest and, even when I don't agree with everything he writes or likes, I think his reviews are thoughtful. Also he's generally depressed and suffering because of his situation (DACA recipient).

By the way, I don't know if someone here has watched the HBO documentary on Spielberg but he actually had a very melodramatic childhood related to his parents divorce. Actually, it explains his obsessions with middle class fatherless families in his films. Or at least show them with other lenses!
I haven't watched Belfast but it seems the family there is adorable and very close, Spielberg's without being disfunctional, was complex and he didn't discovered how much or who was who in his parents relationship until his adulthood. So, it maybe is narcisist of him but it also could be interesting and sincere.

I think it was mentioned that All the Beuty and the Bloodshed was the only film in all important fall festivals this year, like TPOTD last one.
But it's a documentary so you don't have Award pundits talking about it!

I moved these tweets because we aren’t talking about TPOTD itself.

Blonde received a mixed reception as expected but TBH I’m more interested on it than the other Netflix films this year. I mean the critics who loved it REALLY loved it and that made curious. Also I really love The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward of Robert Ford. It’s a beautiful film.
