I was thinking that even when I haven't watched Cooper's A Star is Born and I'm not a fan of him, I would like that his new movie is a huge success just to bother award pundits! I mean it's not nice to wish some film to fail but it should be good to wish succces... to bother other not very nice people, right? 😉
I try to remember the rumors around TPOTD but there just weren't enough. It wasn't very hyped until it was admitted to every Fall festival in the world! (which it's always good even when we starved for news then!) I remember comments saying that Don't Look Up was Netflix's priority and how great it did during screen tests and just that TPOTD was too difficult to sell. And then there was that Kirsten Dunst fan who claimed he knew Netflix people and that Dunst was basically the star of the film.
Then after it was screened for press, award pundits said it was a bad movie which (horror of horrors!) would never been considered for Oscars! They were wrong! Actual profesionals loved it and received a record of Oscar nominations so we should ignore even the early comments by people who already watched the movies BUT have a horse in the (Oscar) race! They don't know what they are talking about! They just want their fave to triumph and the "competition" to miserably fail.

Re Ferrari I read all kind of reactions about the film, the acting, the accents. By critics and others. Nanako gave it 2 stars so it's probably a masterpiece. She commented that the four movies she watched relied too much on the lead actors. ARussian poll (never imagined Russians going to Venezia in the middle of a war).

I will post it this here because it’s about “Poor Things”. This make me laugh, x.com/sanyamvarun/status/1697920070637564302?s=61&t=zPi8LNXgo1ojcMDphmjG3gBut it’s so true! This prude is against film sex scenes but somehow promoting the invasive not actually consensual fan fictions on Internet! It’s not a surprise! They think it’s less harmless but I have seen idiots feeling offended because their stars doesn’t praise their “work”, refuse to publicly to act it or make fun of it! Yes, I’m thinking on Sherlock fandom! Lol I can’t forget that one particular idiot who even wrote an article for a mainstream publication saying that it was discriminatory to “minorities” (white girls from Tumblr, of course!) when BC told a benign joke about slash fiction and that “a middle aged white man” like him doesn’t have any right to say anything about the bad porn they were writing and drawing … about him! How it’s possible that someone let her to publish that! And I’m not calling for censoring her but about editorial quality! She wasn’t better than a creepy old man!

I saw this Cora thread yesterday. It's insane. The woman is 50 yo!
You'd think she's a teenager or young adult.
Her arguments!

I would LOVE for BC to work with Scorsese too. My personal fave is for BC to work with Steven Soderbergh.

Reading some nice comment about Maestro. Not exactly raves like with Poor Things but still praising for Cooper as director and actor. And for Mulligan
I'm glad and I hope they do well at the Oscars! Just to bother award pundits and Nolan crazy fanboys! Lol. I hate that they were wishing it to fail and were already attacking the film and him.

I thought SAG only gave permission to go to festivals to actors on indie produced/distributed movies, not Netflix. EDIT: I think BCooper wasn't there.
Without paywall
