We finished OZ and then watched the second season of A Very English Scandal (actually liked it better than the first set).
Then we were looking around for another extended series that was more than a miniseries, so we settled on Westworld.
The first episode was intriguing but I can't say I fell in love with it (Dan was even less enthusiastic about it).
But we have now watched the second episode and it was an improvement so we're going to stick with it.
The production values are excellent! They really create another time and place, both externally and internally within the show. The acting it also a strength - I like the work that Ed Harris, Thandiwe Newton, and Anthony Hopkins especially.
The violence is more than a bit over the top but at least it fits in the context of the story. I can see the characters development being achieved if the writers make the effort not to cater to the lowest denominator. And the dystopian themes are really something that always catches my interest.
Is there anyone else who has seen this? Please, if you have tru to be sensitive about spoilers. 😊
