One of her last films was The Grinch with BC in the lead but I also remember an old quote by her praising BC as one of her favorite young British actors. I remember she said that the British should be careful because Americans would want to “steal” him from them. I searched for it in the “Nice quotes” thread but I only found posts by me moaning that I didn’t find the original quote. I think it was posted on IMDb message boards in a thread about Dames who really love him (Julie Andrews in particular is a huge fan!)
Anyway, she was a huge timeless icon.

What a great woman and what a fabulous career! One of my favorite roles of hers was the snippy, inappropriate house maid in Gaslight, her very first role, if I recall. She’s been such a fixture on screen for decades. What a life!

Wow! Thanks! It’s that one! Yes, we used to have that thread on IMDb! There were like three old British super stars raving about him almost at the same time. I don’t remember who was the third one. Julie Andrews praised him again more recently. It seems she is a big fan! EDITED, I think the third one was Eileen Atkins. “If you saw him standing still you might think him plain.” HA! I could watch him sleeping for 8 hours straight and be positively enthralled. I can study a still photograph of him for an hour.
Okay, I realize that sounds weird, creepy, and stalkerish of me but you know what I mean. 😂😅 He’s gorgeous. 😍
Speaking of great British lady actors, I still want him to do a romantic comedy with Emma Thompson. I’m sure they’d kick up some fire between them.
