That would be fun! Imagine BC attacking Chalamet with an axe for playing rock and roll! Lol Also I love Pete Seeger and BC kinda looks like him.
EDITED He should sing Seeger’s songs although their voices are very different! But maybe with some practice. He is good doing voices so maybe! I love Dylan but Chalamet has an easier task (if he sings the songs), I mean Dylan isn’t exactly a guy with a melodious voice! Seeger was!
EDITED BC already plays the banjo!!! And looks good doing it! He is perfect for the role! He or Steve Martin if we measure it for the banjo playing! 😉

You know what? He totally could do this voice singing. If this happens, they totally should let him sing.
What about Jenna Ortega for Joan Baez? She is very cool right now, a Mexican-American girl and looks a lot like her. Although, I only have watched her to do horror stuff.

I saw the tweet yesterday but considering who posted the tweet and not seeing anything more anywhere else, I didn't post it.
I think that BC looks a bit like Seeger and also think he could sing a bit and play the banjo, like in Power of the Dog: he playing he's playing and a real banjo player doing the real work. Haha. Perhaps he's proficient now. The thing is that his part wouldn't be that big. Seeger deserves his own biopic. A very interesting life, committed to lots of good social causes and consistent, for what I read. And then BC could play it.

Yes, he deserves his own biopic. Dylan has had a lot of all kind of bios already but their relationship was very interesting and if the movie centers on Dylan "going electric" as the title suggests then maybe it's not a very small role but it's just a rumor as it was the one about Bale!
I was thinking how both Seeger and Báez and the other in the Folk scene sound so pure and melodic, just like birds, and how easily they accepted someone like Dylan! Lol And again, I love Dylan! I guess they just wanted some young male kid who continued their goals but he ended kinda destroying the scene. They later felt so betrayed by him but he was clearly in another channel since the beginning even when he used to sing the same songs! Scorsese portraits that in a great way in his first documentary about Dylan. Seeger wanted to change the world and Dylan just to be a pop idol and used the folk scene to get there! Surely, there were some truth on his part but he has never denied that he was an ambitious kid who also wanted fame and fortune. I love how in Don't Look Back, he and his group all look high and stupid like typical rock stars. They were already rock stars! But the beautiful and pure Joan Báez look lost and small between those men. She was totally out of place!
I love the story of the clash between the purity, idealist but also self-righteous and slightly close-minded Folk scene against the commercial ambition but also rebellious vein and non-conformity of Dylan. It could be a good story if they make it right and treat both sides with respect. Not like the goodies and baddies and if they want to do things right, they need a good actor playing Seeger and him having good time on screen. 😉

Apparently they are related, too! Ha! famouskin.com/famous-kin-chart.php?name=74128+benedict+cumberbatch&kin=44365+pete+seeger&via=4518+richard+fitzalanHe is related to everything and everyone! I thinks that’s the “problem” of having a peculiar surname. It’s easier to trace ancestors! EDITED I would said that you never seen his ancestors from his mother side but I just remembered that the Daily Mail once published an article about a farm worker from his mother side who was accused of killing another man some centuries ago. Yes, the DM wanted to ashamed BC because that! There was also an article about his heroic grandfathers from both sides and how he never mentioned them in interviews so he was an ungrateful guy! British press is bonkers!

Talking about his family relations, one thing I found very weird is that he continued the tradition or promise to put the name Carlton to the eldest son. That is, the Carlton who changed his name to Cumberbatch was the one who inherited the plantations and the slaves.

I don’t think he thinks about it. Why should he? He probably doesn’t even know it. It was centuries ago. I’m sure the reason is that it’s his and his father name.

This made me laugh!
I love Bob Dylan. I really do! I have a few of his cassette tapes (Ok. I bought them many years ago! Lol), I went to one of his gigs, I have watched a lot of films about him, I read one of his books and I really like my old Dylan T-shirt but TBH the singing isn’t exactly his thing! Lol It’s not very difficult to imitate him and you don’t need too much talent to do it so it’s funny to read his fans saying he is very talented because he will sing like Dylan! Now if he can write songs like Dylan or, at least, to emulate his huge charisma then it would be impressive!
Now whoever plays Seeger and Joan Baez must have a hell of a challenge is they try to sing their songs!

I saw a clip of Pete Seeger recently on some documentary about the 60s and I could TOTALLY see BC in that role! Something about their profiles was eerily similar. He did have a high, whining kind of voice, though, which I don’t associate with BC’s deep baritone.
And yes, sgev, Dylan is not known for his rich, modulated, precisely dictioned, singing, haha! Heck, *I* could do a halfway decent imitation of him. But of course La Timothee is too divine and very courageous for attempting it.
The FM radio station here which everyone used to listen to in the 80s had a thing they would do every morning: “What the hell is he saying?” They’d play a clip from a song and folks would call in and guess the lyrics. Dylan and Springsteen featured a lot. 😂

As I said above, I went to one of his gigs here and it’s beautifully amazing how he totally change his songs beyond recognition when singing them live! And yeah, sometimes it’s very difficult to know what he is saying! Lol
It was also probably the most diverse rock concert I have ever been. There were all kind of people and from all ages since little kids to a lot of people around his age. A very young woman actually invaded the stage to kiss him! He looked delighted! It was here in Mexico and you could see a lot of Americans, too.
