Wasn’t Poison the last one?
I will watch The Swan in the evening.

The Swan (the story) is so cruel and violent that I'm preparing myself before watching. I had forgotten some of the stories after reading them, but The Swan came back to me pretty quickly when I watched it. The cruelty of the bullies is sickening - cruelty to animals and to other people. It was well-done, though.

Wow! I just loved it! It even feels kinda experimental. I mean it’s similar to “Henry Sugar” but the narrative complexity of “Sugar” is something Anderson has done before (admittedly by him, because he was always inspired by the short story), “The Swan” feels more naked because it’s much more direct and simple. Rupert Friend is sublime!
Also Sam Adams was right about how it is a great example of the “artificiality” of Anderson’s films as a way of hide grief and pain.
It’s amazing they are part of Netflix’s mission of doing money with Roal Dahl library that they bought because they are a world apart of Matilda* and Willy Wonka! And even when Netflix can be auteur friendly, it seems to me they don’t know what to do with these adaptations. Hopefully, “Henry Sugar” is nominated to the Oscar so the shorts could get more publicity but it seems to me, Netflix is not doing a good job promoting them right now. Also hopefully, Criterion rescue them! They used to release all Anderson films on DVD but they stopped after The Great Budapest Hotel. Maybe the Netflix’s deal with the video home company could help this time.
*Actually, yesterday I saw someone on Twitter perplexing why Netflix was recommending her “Matilda” after she watched “Sugar” because they were nothing alike! Lol

What a horrible, terrible story! People suck.
Although (as we all already knew), Ralph Fiennes is brilliant. And it was nice to see Rupert Friend. I’ve been seeing him around more frequently recently, and it’s great to see him up and coming, again. The last time I saw him in anything was years ago in Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont, which is a lovely movie from nearly 20 years ago.

I watched the Ratcatcher last night and liked it better than the Swan, mostly due to Ralph Fiennes weird, gruesomely delightful performance. It had Richard A. And Rupert Friend also. My only question is: Who or what was in the hayrick?

My only question is: Who or what was in the hayrick? There is another story called Rummins which explains what was inside.
