I had seen that this was coming to Netflix, but I just assumed it was the awful movie with Anne Hathaway from a few years ago. But it’s not! It’s a limited series without Anne Hathaway, who was all wrong for the part. That movie was such a disappointment because I had LOVED the book, written by David Nicholls. I’m looking forward to watching this new series.

I’ve now watched 5 half-hour episodes, and I’ll try to watch more later tonight.
It’s just wonderful! I don’t remember every detail from the book, but I do remember the feeling of it, and this series captures it perfectly. This is literally the filmed version of the book. And the actress playing Emma is smart, funny, sarcastiic - as the character should be. She’s all the things that Anne Hathaway was not in the awful movie version.
I can’t wait to see the rest!

I just finished it. It’s so well done - the actors, the writing, everything. It’s exactly what I imagined when I read the book.
Give it a try, even if you haven’t read it! You’ll know in the first couple of episode (there are 14) whether you like it, because the rest of it is just as good.

I tried to watch it but it's not my thing, at least not now. I didn't read the book.
Ambika Mod was in This is Going to Hurt the mini-series with Ben Whishaw, directed by Lucy Forbes, the director of Eric. She's good, yes. This is a series I want to finish watching.

You definitely don’t have to read the book to watch it. And you might not like the book, either.
I was surprised that so many people said that they loved the Anne Hathaway movie so much that they didn’t want to ruin it by watching this miniseries. Huh?? She was TERRIBLE in it!
