I don’t know how trustworthy is this site but it has a lot of the details,
It’s supposedly a The War of the Roses remake. The scriptwriter is Yorgos Lanthimos frequent writer.

I googled it and interesting enough, it seems World of Reel posted the “news” and later deleted it. I don’t know if it’s because he couldn’t confirmed it or why.

Interesting creative behind this project.
I really liked the over-the-top quality of that dark comedy when it came out and of course Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas were two powerhouse stars when this hit the cinemas!
The only thing going against it for me is the remake aspect. That could drag it down - so many remakes fail.
But sometimes they soar. And it would be lovely to see BC in a farcical comedy!

Agreed but a The War of the Roses remake by a daring screenwriter (not so much the director who is not bad but very Hollywood conventional. He has a lot of experience doing comedy, tho. Different kind of comedies) sounds much better than a The Night of the Hunter remake.
EDITED It also sounds like it’s a British version. I think they even changed the names of the characters. EDITED 2, Yep supposedly they are Theo and Ivy in this version while Michael Douglas and Katherine Turner were called Oliver and Barbara.

I've got nothing but pure admiration for Tony McNamara, especially since watching The Great! It's so cleverly written. Full of snappy, rapid fire quips and over the top outrageous behaviours.

I also really liked Roach's Bombshell. I saw that by myself in the cinema whlle visiting my sister's daughters in Vancouver, just before covid struck. And then Dan and I watched it together on a streaming service during lockdown.
It was very well directed. And even though I knew the story completely, it was fascinating to see how the director made the unfolding of the events playout in such an interesting manner.
I've also seen Roach's Meet the Parents (the best of the "Focker's" comedies IMO) and Trumbo (which earned Bryan Cranston an Oscar nomination for Best Actor).
He's done some very solid work that gets noticed.

Yah, I think solid is a good description of him. Probably his best work is the political movies for HBO but it’s nice that he has a lot of experience doing comedy. Silly over the top comedy like his Austin Power flicks and more down to the earth stuff like the Meet the Parents stuff.

By the way, this won’t be the first time that Olivia Coleman and BC work together. She was the narrator in The Electric Life of Louis Wain.
