Mark Gatiss won. Andrew Scott was also nominated for Vanya. The nominees. Best actor Joseph Fiennes for Dear England at the National Theatre – Olivier and Prince Edward theatre Mark Gatiss for The Motive and the Cue at the National Theatre – Lyttelton and Noël Coward theatre James Norton for A Little Life at the Harold Pinter theatre & Savoy theatre Andrew Scott for Vanya at the Duke of York’s theatre David Tennant for Macbeth at the Donmar Warehouse
It's interesting they'll do more tv than cinema (or I just don't watch their movies).

Good for him! It’s funny that they still mispronounce “Gatiss”, even after all the years he’s been in the spotlight.

Cool for him! How many Sherlock actors are Olivier winners?
No necessarily related but there was this silly post by someone I already had blocked claiming only Andrew Scott had freed himself from Sherlock and Dr. Who fame! lol He was clearly trolling because no one can be so deluded but you never know with social media! lol
Anyway, it’s great that all of them are so successful and I will investigate the Olivier thing!
EDITED
Benedict Cumberbatch won it in 2012 Andrew Scott won it in 2020 Mark Gattis in 2024
Not bad!
EDITED
Gattis won a Supporting one, too, in 2016
