I always preferred dogs to cats but lately I'm questioning that preference. Look at these cats!

Both those videos are adorable!
I've never had any pets, but years ago I used to babysit for a family who had a cat. They lived in a large house, and the cat mostly kept to herself in unoccupied rooms. But late one night I had fallen asleep watching tv, and the cat's meowing woke me up. She had never come near me before. When she saw that I was awake, she took a few steps, stopped and turned around to look at me, and meowed again. I stood up, and she took a few more steps, then stopped to look at me again and meowed. Since she obviously wanted me to follow her, that's what I did. When she saw that I was following, she picked up the pace and led me to the kitchen. She walked over to her empty water dish, and meowed some more. So I gave her some water, she drank it and disappeared again to do whatever it is she did.
I'm sure there was nothing special about the cat's behaviour, but I had no idea that cats were able to communicate that way!

Cats are excellent at communication. Somehow my cat let me know years ago she prefers to drink her water out of a glass instead of a bowl so we share a glass now. While dogs have about 12 different vocalizations, cats have over 100. Wild cats don't meow. That's a language domestic cats have developed for communicating with us, their staff. They really are fascinating and remarkable little hedonists. 😃

I love this video! Thanks for posting it. I have always preferred cats and go to several cat sites. I found this of a mother cat helping her kitten get his toy. I saw it before. It is incedible.
