Why have dates already been announced for the second and third Spider-Man films already, but not a word about DS2? Is Sony just quicker to announce these things than Marvel? Spider-Man Homecoming has only been out for a month!

I think Sony is kind of desperate for Spidey movies so yes, maybe it's them.
They announced the next Guardians of the Galaxy, too and I guess that's more intriguing. My theory is that there will be some spoilers related to Dr. Strange in the Avengers movie: some character revelation, a cliffhanger or storyline that could be exposed by announcing the next Dr. Strange movie, esp. if they have some title they want to use. We will see!

I'm so worried Dr. Strange is gonna die. 😧

I don't think so. The movie was a very solid success and he is one of the new characters. If someone really dies probably will be one of the old guys whose contract are about to end.

I'm sure DS 2 is happening but that second Spidey is coming out quite quickly. Only 2 years between movies 1 and 2. Like Thor 3 is coming out this year 4 years after Thor 2. I think there was 3 years between the last two Iron Man films. Captain America has been on a tighter schedule though, but Civil War (which I haven't actually seen...) was more like Avengers 3 with everyone and their uncle in it.

That's a good point, maybe they will pretend that Dr. Strange gets killed, and knowing he has another movie coming would spoil this. I don't think they really would, since the first movie was a hit, the Marvel fans like BC, and they went to so much trouble to get him only to use him in one solo movie? That wouldn't make sense.

I would rather they take their time with the sequel.

I'm probably alone in this, but I'd like to see more Sherlock before I see more Doctor Strange. I don't think they should rush with getting a sequel out. I'd prefer to have him do lots of different roles so that he's known as that great Oscar-winning actor who also plays a superhero once in a while!

Don't they usually follow a similar timeline, beginning filming roughly one year before the release date? November spots are open and unspoken for beyond the Thor movie this fall. It seems odd to go from July 2018 (Ant Man and Wasp) to March 2019 (Capt. Marvel) without anything, so surely something hasn't been announced yet. Or so far in 2019 there is only Avengers 4 in May and Spiderman 2 in July. Of course we've seen that those planned dates can change. I wonder when BC has a break in his schedule.
