I follow Scott Derrickson on Twitter. His tweets were uplifting and kind, and often religious. He mainly spoke about his love of movies, especially old movies. When he did write about stuff in the news, he was quite harsh on people who behave badly. So it’s entirely possible that he left Twitter to avoid having to talk about JG.

They are searching for faux pas not necessarily shocking stuff. Actually just mentioning "pizza" make you guilty of pedophilia. They think it's a code word for those asking for kids! (It's like the so called "haters" but much much worse) Here's the post I which he announced he left Twitter. In the comments he said the reason was that Twitter "is a septic tank" http://instagr.am/p/BlwqCuRl75G EDITED: Another bit of info that suggests he left Twitter because the Gunn issue. He did it almost at the same time that Selma Blair who explicitly said she did it because what happened with Gunn. I don't know if he and Gunn areclose but they are both close to Blair. Both were also very active liberals on Twitter with a B horror movie past. The difference is that Gunn was working for an over the top company specialized in shocking offensive material meanwhile Derrickson style was much more influenced by religious solemn stuff. www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/selma-blair-quits-twitter-defense-james-gunn-1130555Derrickson is under contract so it's much more difficult for him to openly talk about the theme. The Variety article said Disney is ready to legally force The Guardian of The Galaxy cast to return for a new movie if they refuse it.

He wrote in the comments: "I don't tease". No idea what he means! It's obviously an answer to the reports that he is teasing the sequel but it means there's not a sequel or that he is not teasing but confirming the sequel? LOL Some people thought he was announcing a social media hiatus but he posted the comment so...

I thought maybe he was going on vacation for August, lol. Time will tell what this means. If it is the start of DS2 filming, then YAY! Couldn’t be more thrilled.

TBH I think Marvel fans speculate about everything and most of the time they are completely wrong so I’m not hoping too much but an article in Spanish mentioned something about Disney maybe moving the sequel to remplace the next The Guardians of the Galaxy movie now that apparently Disney put it on hold and it’s not in a hurry to find a James Gunn replacement but he is definitely out (according to Variety. I actually tried to post the article with a long comment in the other thread but the forums failed and erased my post! I just didn’t wanted to write it again so I’m posting stuff in more frivolous threads! Maybe tomorrow). That would explain the cryptic comment about “Not my will, but thine be done...” He reposted The Guardians of the Galaxy actors letter so it seems clear which side he is on.
Anyway, there is actually nothing in concrete there and he probably is just saying that with the “I don’t tease” comment. The question still is where we will see him in September?

Is BC filming anything then, that we know of?
I'm excited for a sequel, but hope they take all the time they need with it, and don't rush something together just to fit the GOTG slot. It was scheduled to film in 2019 and release in 2020.

So what's the plan with GOTG3? Less than 2 years away, no director anymore and no replacement as of yet. They might postpone it for a year or more. Could Dr.Strange 2 take its spot?

I just read an article that said Gunn was starting pre-production for GOTG3 next month. So Derrickson would have the same time as Gunn if they decided to move DS2 to replace GOTG3.

But have they already written DS2? The script is what I really want them to take their time with!
