This guy looks and sounds nothing whatsoever like Benedict, and is at least 10 years older. I know Benedict is very talented and would be great at whatever he attempted, but surely there are older actors more suited to do this! And Kevin Spacey would also be all wrong!
Anyway, when asked which one he'd choose to play him, he says he'd audition for the part himself!

I doubt any respectable actor would want to do that movie! Also politically speaking everyone knows BC don't agreed with the book they are adapting. It seems it's very pro-Brexit, by the way! And Farage is extremely anti-migration and apparently it's a positive profile. I'm not sure about Spacey but he doesn't seem (crazy) Conservative neither!

This is ridiculously silly and an obvious attempt at name dropping to get attention. It is just a bit of August "doldrums" news fluff. π€£
I really have to believe that BC would rather have his fingernails pulled out by a pair of pliers than to have his name on anything that Farage or his political cohorts were attached to, if it made them out to be anything except the fascists they are. BC is on record as vehemently opposing everything those types stand for.
Edit: I was thinking about this and I think I have had a change of mind. BC's an actor, actors don't have to be aligned with the characters they play to perform them. Look at Meryl Streep when she portrayed M Thatcher. And she did a great job doing that role. So if he did do Farage it doesn't mean that he would be condoning or even giving any kind of tacit approval of his politics any more than Streep did of Thatcher's repressive policies towards the poor. Granted it would be a massive challenge to try and find anything relatable about Farage (whereas Streep found Thatcher's struggle against a male dominated system an admirable quality) but that is what challenging roles are all about.
I still don't think this "dog days of summer" fluff was anything serious (the suggestion that BC might be recruited to play Farage) but I think my initial reaction was more a case of my personal distaste for the man (and his horrible politics) rather than thinking as an actor might about taking on a role.
:-))

Sadly it seems he won't do it! Awwwww! But Christian Bale or George Clooney maybe will have a role in it! ππππ
Seriously, I wouldn't mind if he plays Farage or Hitler or Satan in a serious movie but this particular project is a ridiculous thing in which types like them are the heroes and as you can see, they are completely deluded about it!!!
