I remember her in a British movie with Jared Harris, Rupert Everett, Jonathan Rhys Meyer and Ian Hart. I thought she was very sexy and charismatic. Oh, well...! She worked in a few movies by her father and a pair of Abel Ferrara movies. And one action flick with Vin Disel.
It’s a mess, doesn’t?
EDITED: Also it seems McGowan is revealing Argento received unsolicited nude photos of the guy since he was twelve! And that she didn’t do anything about it! That’s insane! There was a mention of unsolicited photos but since he was 12 years old? C’mon! That’s very disturbing.
I’m just understanding the implications of that statement because it was very weird!

Jimmy Bennett, the guy accusing Asia Argento, is currently at #1 on IMDB. He went up 4,482 spots this week. Asia Argento is #3.

So, she passively received nude photos when he was 12, was "frozen" while having sex with him at 17. She has known him since he was 8, so let me guess, she probably stood helpless as he propositioned her then?
Sounds like grooming (while in denial) to me.

Aren’t there laws in place to protect child actors? It’s not like the old days when adults exploited these children and no one looked after their well-being. If he was sending nude photos of himself to anyone, someone (parent/guardian/agent) should have known and stopped him. Since no one did, AA should have reported it when he was 12.
I remember reading an interview with the Olsen twins years ago. It was after they had stopped acting and were being spotted in public dressed like homeless people. The interviewer asked them about the drastic change in their image. They said that they hadn’t changed at all. They said that their parents had forced them to put on a wholesome image in public. They were forced to be polite and dress modestly. That wholesome image made them wealthy, but they spoke of it as though it had been a form of child abuse! I couldn’t believe that they were blaming their parents for doing their job. My parents also forced us to dress modestly, be polite and behave in public. Kids will do all kinds of stupid things if left to make all their own decisions!

In the messages published by TMZ, she said he send her unsolicited nudes AFTER they had sex and until a few days before he sued her. It seems McGowan and her partner are saying she said since 12 in, I guess, other unpublished messages. That would be indeed abhorrent!
Anyway, ALL of them seem very unstable. The "being" (that's how McGowan referred to him/her) she is dating is openly talking about all this stuff on Twitter with random people and is now saying it was a friend the person who leaked the messages but they (the pronom used by McGowan, again) doesn't want to name him because they know he needed the money! I can't know for sure but it kind of sounds like it was them who leaked them!
They are all insane! I hope they get the help they need but they aren't doing any good to the movement.

The documentary “An Open Secret” makes that very clear. I would highly recommend it. It shows that Hollywood was, is and probably always will be full of people who prey on the naive and ambitious. Some are into kids, others adults but the lack of any kind of screening of those working with kids or enforceable standards of ethical behaviour for the industry is shocking.

Agreed. It's just that reactions right now are by private companies which a) fear audience/press reactions and b) probably know more that they admit If Weinstein or Spacey prove they are innocent then they can easily sue for unjustified dismissal but agreed that the damages would be done in their careers. That's why I think the precedent is dangerous. But I don't think their companies have big doubts in those two cases. I suspect they knew. So Woody Allen is the first one to sue a big company! And everything suggests he should win or at least get a good deal! Amazon (Bezon seems to have a difficult day!) really screwed up here! Some people are saying that maybe if there were a morality clause they would have a case but even then Allen just have had one very publicized accusation which was investigated (twice) and never prosecuted. Everyone and their mothers, including Amazon, knew about it. There is nothing really new about this case except for a few Twitter storms and speculation! The question is what a morality clause would said in his case: “your widely known past shouldn’t be discussed on social media again”?

Amazon shouldn't have hired WA after his series was a total failure and Wonder Wheel almost the same. They can say so, that they concluded it isn't worth working with him, which is perhaps the real reason they dumped him. Also, with all the actors that said they aren't working with him anymore WA as a director is almost dead.
