That’s really lovely.
It’s so nice to hear some words of praise not only for TCiT (which I thought was a huge tour de force performance by BC) but also for Season 4 of Sherlock (great to see the adjective “stunning” applied to it!).
Too often it seems that fourth season of the show is just sluffed off by both some in the media (I have seen a lot of references to it as being “a disaster” or a “failure”) and by a select group of the Sherlock fandom (especially those idiot TJLC/#Norbury types who have taken it upon themselves to continue to denigrate and insult the creators of the show up to and including their antics at the latest con).
I am really, really glad someone finally recognised BC’s exemplary performances, as well as acknowledging the excellence of both projects he was involved in that were the “vehicles” for those performances.

Those media people who declared Sherlock S4 a failure were basing their reviews entirely on Twitter and other social media comments. With TCIT, however, tv critics had already given it rave reviews when it aired. So when people ripped it apart on Twitter afterwards, those tv critics couldn't go back and change their reviews.
If they want to summarize social media comments about a show, that's fine, but they shouldn't pass it off as a review!

I think it was only the final episode of Series 4 that got some negative reviews aside from the JL nutters. Some reviewers didn’t like the “gameshow” set up. Overall though I think series 4 was pretty well received.
Anyway Sherlock has now been deemed “a classic” so all the media people are anxious for another series which they will hype to the stratisphere and then no doubt declare it to be “a dissapointment.” 😀
