Well I’m ready fro Xmas! My sister and her husband are coming early this year to celebrate Xmas with us (they are going to be away over Christmas visiting their daughters in Vancouver). So I had to put the tree up early this year and decorate the mantlepiece as well. Each year I cut boughs off of the trees in our yard to do the mantlepiece and all the boxes and containers on the porch. Dan and I went out and got our tree last night during the snowstorm (the worse part about it was the freezing rain on the windshield). But it was totally worth it! I love having a real tree in the house - it smells so devine! Still thawing the turkey and tonight I have to finish cleaning the house to ready for our guests but once that tree is up it is Christmas to me! And since we got wacked with a ton of snow last night it looks very pretty outside as well. Feel free to add any Xmas notations you like to this thread - it isn’t just about my celebrations. Join in if you wish! :-))

My decorating isn't as elegant at Roverpup's, but here it is! We had to get a new artificial tree this year because our old one wasn't lighting up anymore. This one is taller, so the cord from the light-up star we attached doesn't quite reach the electrical outlet, and is way too low on the tree. And even the weather decided to help out with my photos this morning - it's snowing! This is my view from my living room window right now. All that's missing is a deer strolling by - so here's a photo from a while ago with deer on our front lawn. _

Everything looks so bright and cheery! It is snowing again here too. This is the scene out on my back porch... all my lovely Xmas boughs are all covered in snow!!! LOL!
