Yes, I laughed when I saw it because a lot of people joked she looked as a young Sherlock in last season. TBH I thought it was slightly rude to her because she is a kid and they were comparing her to an adult man but I guess it didn't bother her!

I like that they're doing a teen girl detective show! I doubt there will be any connection to our BBC Sherlock because it's based on a series of books written in 2006. It would be nice if they left it British, though, so that MBB could keep her own accent.

There are lots of articles about this, and now it's being called the next Harry Potter. The first article I read said that the books are set in Victorian times, but other articles seem to say that they're set today. Which will it be?

MBB is great! I've never heard of Enola Holmes before but it sounds nice.
I don't get the Harry Potter comparison at all though. What's there in common?

They're saying that there's a need for a franchise that appeals to young people, like Harry Potter did. And it's based on popular novels, like HP. And people are also looking forward to seeing big-name actors take on roles, like they did in HP.

I'm not being argumentative for the sake of it, just so you know haha, I know this is just one of those throw away comments by somebody. But it's way too late for this to be the "new Harry Potter." The books were massive years before the films ever came about, making millions and getting Rowling a Hugo. Enola Holmes is nothing in comparison, I've never heard of this series until this day and who hadn't at least heard of Harry Potter? If anything was to be "the new Harry Potter" young adult franchise it was The Hunger Games. Sure the books were mainly popular in the US before the first movie, but at least it had mainstream popularity somewhere and the casting for the films was stellar.

Whoever said it probably just means "the next hugely popular series about a British teen," not that it duplicates Harry Potter in every way. Just a prediction by somebody, or wishful thinking from a PR person involved with the show. Time will tell, though I'll admit I'd love a "new Harry Potter" to entrance my kids, who were too young when the real one was new!
