Of course they won’t remake TTotSM, but I can dream, lol. It’s one of my favorite movies of all time - one I’m compelled to watch every time it comes on (along with Whatever Happened to Baby Jane). It is a great role, and Bogie was perfection in it, as would BC be. I’ve cast Sam Neill in the Walter Huston role, and I’m still considering Tim Holt’s role. It needs to be someone about 30, nice, decent kind of guy, not too famous.
I got Power of the Dog for Christmas, and I’m about 1/3 way thru. Phil is not a nice person. I have worries about the end. 😬

Agreed that the source isn't trustworthy so I will post it here,
Also it's not the first time his name is linked to a Dracula adaptation. Apart of the obvious Moffat-Gattis series in which he was used as "inspiration", I remember he said in 2014 or 2015 that he was offered the role in a Hollywood film but he turned it down.

My guess is no, though I'd love to see him play Dracula!

I hate horror, but I'm intrigued by it being labeled a comedic movie.

I just don't see any reason for him to accept a role like this honestly, especially since M&G have their current series running. It seems redundant.

I don’t know who the director is supposed to be, but that seems like a big factor in the roles he’s accepting now (and has been for some time). I don’t think he’d take a role like this unless the script was really interesting, it made some sort of statement about the human condition/was a creatively compelling character, and was headed by a director he wants to work with.
The attraction I can see is it’s horror and a comedy, but DS2 will have horror elements, and he doesn’t seem that keen to do a run of the mill comedy. He instills comedy in everything he does instead, as part of character. If he could make Patrick Melrose funny, he doesn’t need some lame comedy.
And how is this different from Taika’s What We Do in the Shadows? 🤷🏻♀️

Maybe he would be more interested to play him instead of Dracula!
