According to wikipedia SCM was born in November 30, 1977. So he's just a year and months younger than BC. He doesn't look younger. Saskia Reeves is 55 yo. I only read a summary of the book. ETA I didn't see the two previous posts before posting. I think he can pull looking older. This picture is from November 2015 and look at this video also. SCM 😲 He really have changed a lot in the last few years!

You totally should watch Amazing Grace. It's not a great movie but BC is wonderful in it. It's a very subtle performance and very mature for an actor that was still in his twenties. And I say "mature" in a literal way. I was amazed at how easily he went from playing the young version to the old one. Also even then he had a lot of authority and presence . He was against people like Michael Gambon, Cieran Hinds and Toby Jones* but he imposed himself easily on screen. I can't say the same about Ioan Gruffudd. I guess it didn't helped him that he was practically playing a saint! I remember a review in a literature magazine called Letras Libres by a Spanish writer. He didn't like the movie but was amazed by the old British actors in supporting roles (he wasn't a fan of the star) including the fantastic young man playing William The Young. He predicted great things for him! *Albert Finley is also in the movie but I think he never share screen with BC. I would love to watch Amazing Grace, but they never show it on tv here and I don't think it's on any of my streaming services.

Yes, it's very positive they both are from the same age. I'm also glad that he is interested in doing adult drama. It's not an easy theme especially nowadays that everything seems to be kids friendly or at least adults with kid tastes friendly (mmm I guess the book is a little about these people). I hope BC's fans respond to the material. In that way it's a risky theme but sadly it could only be made for TV these days. I couldn't agree more. We live in strange times.

I have it on DVD but funnily it's a used DVD in which someone drew a mustache on Ioan Gruffudd's face. LOL And not, I didn't buy it because BC. It was one of the first movies I saw him. I bought it, at least in part, because the mustache! Before completely disappearing Blockbuster used to sell used DVDs here. They rented the movies and when they changed the DVDs from "new releases" to "Drama", "Comedy", etc. categories they sold the extra copies with reduced prices. I bought a lot of movies there. So with AG, I saw the mustache and I just couldn't resist it!

I bought it on DVD from Amazon a couple of years ago. I had never seen it on tv until this past year. I wonder if they had shown it before but I hadn't been aware of it because it was on a religious channel, which I don't usually watch.

Wouldn't it be great if Benedict's production company has a policy about only showing age-appropriate love interests?

That was online, so now we'll just have to wait and see if they publish it in next week's issue of the magazine!
