I don’t think there’s anything wrong with going to conventions or having your photo taken with an actor. But when you travel around the world doing it over and over and over again I do think that behaviour is a little strange.

I think there’s a difference Milemass. A sports fan traveling to watch a game is the same as a fan of an actor going out to watch him /her in a movie or on stage. Travelling long distances multiple times just to be in he same room as an actor or sportsperson or have your photo taken with them is not the same thing. Janet Fong is of course free to spend her money as she wishes but I have to say she does seem to be quite obsessive. Aren’t there other things to see and do at fan conventions??? So it isn’t as if “being in the same room” or “having your photo taken with them” is the only reason for attending. Some people must go for the companionship of being with other fans who have similar interests. Isn’t that what is supposed to make them a fun event, if you are into that sort of thing? Aren’t there also Q&A sessions (which in a way is like attending an informal “lecture” or informational session)? I’ll bet a lot of folks at fan conventions are just as excited about those sort of events as the picture sessions. Aren’t there displays to view? Memorabilia to buy?? There could be multiple motivations for spending that amount of money to attend, all happening within a person simultaneously. It isn’t as if people going to fan conventions are stalking the actors in their private life or making them stand beside them for pix without their permission. And if the celebrity felt it was going beyond fan interest I think they certainly wouldn’t hesitate to block that person, so the number of times someone attends is irrelevant really. It is all done by mutual consent as long as the fan acts within the bounds of common courtesy and doesn’t act in an untoward manner. As for being obsessive... a lot of people are obsessive about a lot of things. I am obsessive about a lot of things! 😁 I can see that is an interesting topic to speculate on in general terms but I really don’t see the point of discussing this one particular person by name, especially when she isn’t here to answer for herself and it isn’t as if she is a public person or a celebrity.

I wasn’t the one who brought the name up Roverpup and I’ve no particular interest in continuing the discussion. However I stand firmly behind my opinion that that particular person is obsessive.
Janet Fong posts about her activities in public fora on social media therefore it is not as though passing comment is invading her privacy.
If you don’t want people to comment then don’t put the info out into the public domain.

It seems it was cancelled:
The organization was criticized by fans since days one. There was a lot of disinformation.
