Very lovely! Of course we all know he has the “knack” of being able to dress rather unfashionably as well... but in my mind he ALWAYS looks great!!! (Yes, even in flip-flops and shorts with a scarf!!!) :-))

That's so funny! It was before my time, so this is the first I'm learning about this. But it does explain that red carpet interview when he was asked what he liked women to wear. He said that women tell him what to wear, not the other way around.

This is the cake: A fan made it and gave it to him. Hours later James Rhodes posted this tweet! The idea of him and a friend eating a cake he got from a stranger sounded a crazy then. Nowadays would be completely bonkers!!! I think Cumberbuddy’s gift was a good humored gesture. A harmless joke at his tendency to wear always the same clothes. The funniest part was that he actually wore the stuff they bought to him and he did it for years!

Yes, and he posted photos wearing the clothes, so he didn't mind the fans knowing he used them. I wonder if he misses those days? Newfound stardom, but safely limited! He didn't have to worry about psychos, and still went unrecognized in public.

I think by then he was a phenomenon in te UK. I’m not sure he was unrecognized in public there. Also there was a lot of hysteria but there weren’t a bunch of deluded ex-fans writing hateful stuff about him and his family on social media, of course!

The James Rhodes cake story is hysterical! I told it to a friend of mine a few weeks ago when we were talking about lousy gifts. The best lousy gift I ever received was from my boss for Christmas. It was two candles, one a snowman, one a Christmas tree, but they had been stored in a heated place, and were all like partly melted, ans slumped over, and they were used! Really, someone had already lit them! This woman made $100K more than me, and she gave me used, melted candles? I felt so special! 😂
