And of course, we know DS is in the next one, because we follow BC's filming schedule!
People seem to be saying that the characters prominently featured in A3 will have smaller roles in A4, and vice versa, to give everyone enough screen time. So his role may be small in the next one (missing: presumed dead through a lot of it maybe?) I think he will have a major part in this one, or we wouldn't see him in every city on the PR tour.

I know nothing about these films or these characters, but aren't they based on comic books? Wouldn't the films be following the stories that have already been written?

I'm not an expert in comics neither but I have friends who are and no, they are indeed based in specific comics/storylines but they aren't faithful adaptations of them. So even when there are series of comics with the same name than the movies the scriptwriters, producers and directors do their own version of them.

I've read all of one comic book in my life and even that wasn't superhero stuff, so I'm certainly not an expert. But some of these characters have been going for like a century by now, so they've basically been re-booted a billion times and there isn't a continuous storyline going on anymore. So as far as I understand they can take ideas from here and there but there isn't really a certain story arc that they follow when adapting.

We need to remember how much time he spent filming, though: I am not sure, but it seems to me that he wasn't on set for a long time so it looks improbable that he could have a long screen time. And his being on the PR tour could be simply due to the fact that he has no pressing engagements (alas) at this moment - he is not filming anything just now.

He was two or three months there for the first movie and just a few of weeks for the second one so I think his role is big in the first one and not very long in the sequel.

What a fabulous interview! A musical! A horror film! James Bond??
Even if none of it ever happens, it's just so exciting to hear it being discussed!

He certainly loves to be challenged doesn’t he! Of all of those three choices I suppose I would most be agreeable to seeing him in a horror movie - although horror movies aren’t really in my wheelhouse, but I abhor musicals even more! And while I would definitely go and gladly see him in a James Bond film (I like the James Bond thrillers actually), I really don’t think he needs to do a role like that! It would be thrilling and fun though to be an actor in a James Bond movie though. But he already has a part in a big “franchise” movie series with Dr. Strange, so JB would be a bit of a repeat I would imagine, really.
Still, like you said, it is fun to speculate regardless!
