I think they are going to pretend DS is dead, but either he really isn't or comes back (Lord knows we are used to that from Sherlock). That is why they haven't announced the sequel; it would be a spoiler for this Avengers movie, or the next. Since this movie has two parts, I'm guessing it ends on a cliffhanger, and maybe that is part of it.

I think if he would die he wouldn’t mention it AT ALL! And I don’t think he is better lying now! 😉

Two parts? You mean what they are calling Avengers 4? And he keeps being asked about DS' future so he has to say something. If all he is doing is trying to wind people up, well it is working on me LOL!

I’m pretty sure you don’t need to worry about DS2. He’ll be back. I think the ones we need to worry about are Tony Stark, Captain America (snif! I love Chris Evans) and maybe Vision? I hope this movie can live up to its hype! They’re really cranking the fans up!

Not to mention, they are making BC such a centerpiece of these PR events. He is the only one of the actors to appear at all of them so far (London, Korea and Singapore) and getting a huge introduction each time. They wouldn't do that if he were a throwaway character with only one movie, and about to die in this one. He just has to build suspense, but the more he talks about it, the more convinced I am that it's not happening. I noticed in this article about the subject: comicbook.com/marvel/2018/04/16/avengers-infinity-war-doctor-strange-death-benedict-cumberbatch/Lots of commenters are predicting that various characters will die, but DS will bring them back with the time stone. So I really hope they are not doing that.

I just read yesterday that there will be the loss of an important character early in the movie, which was shown at the fan event, so I don't think I am spoiling anything and that it is definitely not DS. I honestly didn't realize this movie would have a sequel as such, just that an Avengers 4 would happen. And it is a good point that they wouldn't have BC traveling everywhere to promote it if he is not in it much. But I thought it was mainly because he is so beloved in Asia and that DS will feature prominently but maybe die (or merely appear to, which I obviously didn't consider) at the end. The idea of him bringing others back didn't occur to me either, but that would have to mean he retains the time stone, and in at least one interview I think I read either BC or the writer say DS wouldn't give it up too easily, and that might be how he ends up dead?

I do think this is what will happen. Maybe he dies to save others or something. But I think he'll be back. I assumed A4 is a continuation of this story because they are so close together. A2 was 3 years after A1, then another 3 years until A3, but now A4 is out just 1 year later. "Avengers 4: The Return of Dr. Strange." I'm calling it now. I keep seeing comments that Loki will die, which really bums me out. He is my second-favorite character.

Loki? I hadn't heard that, and it would also upset me. I love him! Became a fan of TH on the strength of his portrayal.

I saw a headline saying a prominent character dies early but I didn't read the article. People were indeed speculating it was Loki but I doubt that scene is in the scenes they are showing. Actually I read the description of them and they were kind of confirmed by some questions in those interviews (all the stuff about Iron Man and Dr. Strange relationship). I don't think anyone die in them although I kind of stopped reading after the scenes with Dr. Strange! But I understand the other scene was the "old one" with Thor and The Guardians meeting! Loki wasn't in them. Just Strange, Wong, Hulk, Iron Man, Spiderman, the ugly guy who attacks Strange and the mentioned Thor and The Guardians. Paltrow's character calls Iron Man so maybe she is also there
