Never Mind, the first of the Patrick Melrose novels, as been ranked #34 in the top 50 novels of the past 100 years.

Interesting, I personally think Mother’s Milk is the best and more mature of them. Followed by the craziness of Bad News.

I just randomly read this old review and I thought this person is very wrong about it, www.avclub.com/benedict-cumberbatch-behaves-badly-and-acts-terrificall-1825922025They hadn’t watched the whole series yet but even in Some Hope, Princess Margaret is directly juxtaposed to David Melrose in Never Mind. She behaves in a very similar way to the girl during the fancy dinner than Melrose to his son during the dinner in France. In other words, the British monarchy is directly linked to a child rapist! How more devastating the series could had been about British class system? Anyway, it’s still a good review but I’m perplexed why they thought it “pulled back” when they repeatedly linked upper classes to sexual abuse!
