I realize I'm super late to the party, but just now getting to watch this. I'm halfway through episode 2, and WOW! Is this series terrific or what?

Omg, OBS. Yes, it’s a huge, um, treat, if you like painful treats, lol. Have you seen all of it?

Did I just spot Edward St. Aubyn in a cameo, at Sonny's birthday party?

I also thought I saw Adam Ackland as the guard at the bottom of the stairs, but upon re-watch I think his hair was a little too red.

I can’t call this a review, and I don’t know if this has been posted already, but if you want a half an hour of THE most ignorant opinions on PM, have a gander at this. I sprained myself rolling my eyes so hard. Afterbuzzm.youtube.com/user/AfterBuzzTV

There is nothing there! Just a bunch of videos. Half a hour is too long!
At the time there was a podcast, I didn't hear but they were promoting it on Twitter with the poop emoji and other childish things claiming they hated Patrick Melrose. Of course, they didn't seemed very witty so I didn't bothered.
The other day I read a tweet by a woman who was shock with that indeed very shocking scene on the first book. She was very angry and suggested the author should be a pevert. One follower wrote an actually very disturbing tweet agreeding with her. It made me thing how people nowadays are very sensitive and came to extreme conclusions (that then are widely shared on social media) without knowing or understanding the context.

Are they talking about Patrick's assault by his father? It was handled in the most discreet way possible! How could they have done it in any less shocking way? Or, are they complaining that the scene was written at all? Because it is crucial to Patrick's character development!

I didn't read the novels but from what I read about it, the rape is kind of explicit. She obviously doesn't know that the author is the kid who went through that.
