If you didn't watch it is now on BBC iPlayer.
It is very entertaining but not the great drama some people are trying to sell. It's funny sometimes, weirdly funny. I found it Dexterish. Jodie Comer is excellent. I hadn't seen her before. Very endearing for a killer.
Beebs extension is working. You only need to register, no need to lie about location. If it asks if you have a license say yes.

It was on tv here. I didn’t watch it, but I think it might even be finished now.
It was interesting hearing everyone refer to Sandra Oh as “Asian American”, when she’s Canadian. I kept expecting her to correct them, but she didn’t.

Dan and I are watching this now. We actually started it earlier but gave up on it and since we are done the far superior Sharp Objects miniseries, we have gone back to this to see if we can get through it this time.
Things I really like about this show -
1)Sandra Oh's character and performance. She's believable in the role and the character of Eve is just enough conflicted about her life and behaviour to make her interesting.
2) the location shooting. Great to see so many of the places we have visited over the years.
3) some of the supporting cast. Fiona Shaw, Kim Bodnia, Owen McDonnell, etc. all do a good job of filling out the ranks that surround the two main characters.
What I don't like about the series -
1) the character of Villanelle. I think Jodie Comer is a good enough actress, but I find her character too cliche.
2) the writing. It can be VERY boring frankly. And I find the humour... just not funny. Especially if it centred around Villanelle. A lot of the time that character just makes me grind my teeth. The pacing is too slow as well. And I was surprised by this because I really enjoyed Fleabag.
I keep waiting for something astounding to happen with this show. Something that will justify all the buzz that surrounded it. But so far I can think of dozens of series that I would rate high above this one, so I don't know what all the fuss is about. We are about halfway through the second season.

I liked it a lot, but I think it’s an acquired taste.
My problem was with the final season, where they seemed to have run out of the story they had intended to tell and searched for ways to extend the plot into more episodes. I think the show lost its specialness.
And also Villanelle was supposed to be fluent in a bunch of languages, but of course Jodie Comer isn’t! Bad accents in movies and tv are a pet peeve of mine. There is no way her character would have passed as a native speaker as she travelled the world, and yet no one ever questioned her as she murdered them.

I think the first season was very entertaining but just that.
Villanelle was super cartoonish and like a super villain with powers.
Anyway I enjoyed it. The cast was very good. I liked to see Kim Bodnia again.
The second season for me was boring and I didn't care even to watch the third one.

The reason for the noticeable difference between the first season and the rest of the series is probably because Phoebe Waller-Bridge was a writer only for S1. Still, it’s a show about strong women, created by women, written by women, and starring women. There isn’t enough of that around! It’s still so much better than a lot of other shows out there. The characters are likeable - even the villains (something that I rarely find in other shows), and I will gladly keep watching it if they decide to make more episodes.

I’ve had some additional thoughts on Killing Eve!
I’m no fan of violent thrillers, so what made this different for me? In a typical show, the assassin is a man, and the detective trying to catch him is also a man. In making them both women, they could easily have done what other shows/movies have done: have the actresses act like men would act, but put them in skimpy, revealing outfits. But Villanelle and Eve never act like men, and they don’t wear skimpy outfits. I love that Eve always lugs around her big purse, and Villanelle’s creative outfits and disguises are more for her amusement than to help her kill her victims.
