I'm linking to the thread on Emmys because it is a sub thread of Patrick Melrose. benedict-cumberbatch.freeforums.net/post/9817/threadI started to watch Bodyguard on the BBC iPlayer and stopped watching for many reasons, in particular because I didn't like the lead actor's acting, it all sounds fake and it has the inevitable cliché romance between the bodyguard and the woman he protects. I saw tweets saying it should win the Baftas! By people in the industry!

I watched it and really enjoyed it, but I agree that there was nothing award-winning about it. I didn’t have any problems with the acting, but I had lots of questions about why such intelligent characters turned out to be idiots.
The Baftas owe Benedict and Patrick Melrose (and The Child in Time and Sherlock) lots of awards before Bodyguard gets one!

The BBC tweeted a Sherlock gif promoting this series and someone joked that surely BC will appear in the last seconds and he will be awarded with a BAFTA! I didn't checked it further but I think that tweet kind of confirmed my theory that general public think BC is a multiple winner and that they can't stop of giving him BAFTAS! That or was something ironic but it didn't seemed that way!
