I think pretty much all of the regular posters on the IMDB BC board have registered here. I guess there's not a whole lot of BC news around at the moment but I expect posting will pick up when he goes on the promotion trail again. Yes, I think so, too. I look forward to purchasing the Doctor Strange dvd even though I was not overwhelmed by the film. Although the fact that he was in almost every scene makes the film exciting and watchable many times over ! So, excuse me for a stupid question, but what exactly is Benedict´s next film being ready and coming to the cinema?

Well, he is making (or perhaps just finished filming) The Current War. I read somewhere that it is supposed to be finished all filming as of Feb. 25-ish but various craft/cast have tweeted about being finished their parts already. And I don't think anyone has seen BC on a set lately. That movie is scheduled to come out sometime in 2017.
Also there is a TV movie that he is involved in (as the star and co-executive producer) based on the book The Child in Time. It has started searching for a director and other cast and crew already (as of Feb. 17th) and has been commissioned by the BBC and Masterpiece in the US, so it will be made sometime after The Current War finishes. It is a 90 minute one-off special and probably won't that the logistics that a bigger budget full scale movie would, so it could be done fairly rapidly (electively speaking, of course) and might be ready to be seen later this year or early next year.
He also has supporting/cameo roles in the new Thor movie and The Infinity Wars for Marvel. I think people have speculated that the Thor role has already been filmed (during DS) and the release date of Thor: Ragnarok is October 27, 2017.
The Infinity War role will be done later this year (scheduled to come out May 4, 2018).
Also the documentary Walk With Me (with BC narrating) is being presented at the SXSW film festival this March 10-19th.
Those are all the ones for sure coming out in the near future. There are a couple more speculated films but nothing concrete as of yet.

Thanks a lot for that, roverpup, I appreciate it! Yes, I read about the Tv-movie here, and I am having high hopes and think that it is precisely the sort of material that Benedict loves to sink his teeth into. I can´t wait.

I don't think it's entirely clear yet, is it? It might not be "ready" yet, but one assumes "The Current War" is intended to get an Oscar run release (provided it lives up to expectations) with a festival premiere probably at Telluride (early September) or TIFF. If Weinstein rates it enough for it to be his Oscar pony, and the audience responds well too, then it will presumably then get the same sort of staggered subsequent release that TIG got from late October or thereabouts. Theoretically, that's therefore BC's next likely film release.
But come November 3rd there's the 3rd "Thor" film, and he's in that to some extent. Probably only a cameo, though.
It hasn't even been rumoured anywhere, to my knowledge, but I wouldn't be entirely surprised if he doesn't have a cameo in the Guardians film too in May. It's stretching credulity a bit, maybe, but there was the rather odd coincidence that the Strange Lego set included a huge red tentacled monster trying to get through the portal in Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum. But while there was no such monster in the Strange film, there apparently is in the Guardians' film. Odd at the very least, if not necessarily significant.

Did you post the same question in the greetings thread? I answered there for some silly reason, anyway. Roverpup has already said some of the same, but this is just moving the post I left

No, I think it was removed to this file by the staff for it to be on topic. Sorry, I am still not quite used to this site compared to IMDb, but I will in time. Yes, hopefully the Current War will be as great as Tig and that it will get the same treatment around award times.

Because I transferred my own post, though, there's now a duplicate. I'd delete it myself, but if I delete the first, whoever moved the post will probably delete the other, so i'll leave it to them.

Apparently there is additional info about BC in The Current War. Today a Clay Shooting club, The Bisley Shooting Grounds, which is situated about 30 miles from central London tweeted that TCE was at their facilities filming. They did hashtag Ben and Michael Shannon's names but I don't know if that just means that they were actually there, or if those hashtags were just there to get notice about the tweet. If they were there, then that means Ben is still filming the movie.
Here's a copy of the actual tweet -

I think that's saying BC and Michael Shannon were both there.
One is a little curious about the clay shooting R&R though. Is that because it was enjoyed so much that he/they/someone said they would like to go back privately, or because they've just been (hopefully) invited back?
