It should be number one soon. Still I think people doesn't buy tickets for kid's movies beforehand so regularly as with superhero movies or other big franchise which also should be for kids but are watched by immature adults! EDITED: Its the numer one now although with the same percentage than RB.

I think advanced ticket sales happen more with movies that let you select your seat, like IMAX and 3D. That way, there’s no reason to arrive early and hope you get a good seat. I do it almost all the time now, even with regular movies, because I hate standing in line to buy tickets.

So I'm not familiar with that ticket sales site (https://www.movietickets.com) so I see that The Grinch is now at around 32% and BR is at 25%. Is that usual for a spread like that? Or is this an indication of excitement on the ticket buyers part ? An omen of big box office?? Just curious about the context of that figure... 😊

It's good of course! It's the movie that it's selling more tickets. In comparison, the other two big releases of the weekend aren't there or at least they weren't there the last time I checked, that's not good. On the other hand, it was widely expected that The Grinch would be the biggest movie this weekend.

It's crazy the bad faith Illumination provokes! I like to visit the Box Office forums and they have always hated the studio. It's not something against The Grinch or BC just Illumination. Anyway it's a fun forum (not so fun like this one!) and they are hard but never so nasty as posters on award forums! Yesterday people were posting the numbers of their local cinemas (something they always do!) and speculating how bad The Grinch was doing. They are numbers so I'm sure they weren't fabricating anything but the interpratations...
I thought it's a kid's movie so it's kind of normal that it doesn't do huge numbers in Thurdsday's previews (kids have to go to schools! At least Friday is a holiday but I don't think so..) but that's actually a great number!
