I’m so relieved to be reading these grown-up professional reviews! I was starting to wonder if I had misjudged the Jim Carrey movie, but no. I saw it so long ago - when it came out in 2000, and I’ve had no desire to watch it again since.
I’m looking forward to seeing it tomorrow. A friend just called to tell me she’s free after all and will be coming with me. Yay!

I agree - a weird review! He did and didn’t like it?
Some other reviews are just as confused. The Independent review says “There is nothing here not to like”, but only gave it three stars because it’s out in November?

So no, you are not misjudged it! It was and stil is an awful movie!

From the Collider review: Um. . . Aren’t all movies - and all forms of entertainment - meant to be a distraction? They temporarily take us out of our real lives and put us somewhere else for a while, even if it’s only in our minds.

I’m already tired of all the reviews that are simply a comparison to the 1966 cartoon. It was perfect, and I don’t think anyone would disagree. So stop with the “Did we really need another Grinch movie?” comments! What does that even mean? Do we ever “need” any movie, tv show, song, or novel? Of course not! Since when are movies judged by how much they’re needed?
