I agree with this! Benedict keeps saying that there wasn’t any motion capture in voice work for the movie, but it was totally him on the screen.

I went to see it again today, this time in regular 2D rather than 3D. The animation was just as gorgeous without the 3D! And it was still sweet and adorable, and I still got teary at the same parts. I noticed details this time that I hadn’t noticed before, which is why it’s necessary to watch it more than once. I had a friend with me this time (she thought it was very cute, too), and I forced her to stay through the credits to see the extra little scenes. Every single person had already left the theatre and missed those scenes, which I thought were really important to the end of the story.

enfilme.com/en-cartelera/el-grinchThis is in Spanish, I know, but it’s comparing the Latin America version with the American one and says that BC achieves “amazing vocal variations” when the work of Mexican superstar Eugenio Derbez reminds all his old characters. It’s the opposite of “Why isn’t he doing his Sherlock voice?” so, of course, I liked it!
