Illumination do simple and harmless movies for very little kids and they loved them so they do a lot of money (the massive publicity campaigns also help). Critics and some adults hate them because those movies hasn’t the complexity or deepness of Disney’s films.

How could people not like it? It was so sweet! The Grinch was plenty scary enough for little children, and it had a lovely message of kindness and helping others. Plus, it was very beautiful with the snow and lights, the animals were adorbs. They obviously put a lot of thought and care into making it. What’s not to like? Sheesh. People want too much if the world isn’t “done” to their expectations.
My only question was Why didn’t people love that little baby Grinch? He was so cute! 🥺

My Grinch BluRay+DVD+Digital just arrived - right on schedule! I’m always impressed that Amazon delivers pre-orders so that they arrive on the day they are released.
I’m looking forward to watching it again, although I suppose it means they’ll no longer be showing the ads on tv every few minutes!

In the middle of this ice storm we’re having today, I was surprised to get a delivery from Amazon. It was the Grinch DVD - again! It was a bit of a Groundhog Day moment for me - didn’t we already do this yesterday?? Obviously, someone at Amazon made a mistake. They also sent me some weird little light bulbs that I didn’t order. I’m now thinking about that poor person out there anxiously waiting for their Grinch and lightbulbs that haven’t arrived yet.
Yes, I’ll be sending them back!

Update on my Grinch DVD situation: After making sure we weren’t charged for the extra Grinch they sent us, we contacted Amazon to let them know about their error. We asked how they wanted us to return the DVD and the weird little light bulbs we didn’t order (it turns out they’re for the headlights of a car). They kept us waiting while they looked into it, and then told us we could keep it all!

I was at a drugstore this morning and saw that they had a display of the Grinch DVDs. It had a “life size” cardboard Grinch leaning against it, smirking. I asked someone working there - a manager - if it was possible to get that display when they took it down. She said she would do her best, and wrote down my name and number. She said the only problem would be rescuing it before someone threw it away. I don’t know what I would do with it, but I really want it!

I got a call today from the drugstore to tell me I could pick up the “prop” they put aside for me. At first, I had no idea what they were talking about. But then I remembered the Grinch display I had asked for. I tried to take it apart to take it to my car, but no one could figure out how to do it, so I had to carry it down the street as it is. There weren’t too many people around, thank goodness! It wasn’t as embarrassing as when I carried the Tom Cruise display from Jerry Maguire years ago! As I left the store, a man who worked there joked “So you’re the one stealing the Grinch from my grandson!” Ha! Here it is!
