Don’t sit there, lol! (Unless you’re trying to cash in Dan’s life insurance policy.) 🤭

Don’t sit there, lol! (Unless you’re trying to cash in Dan’s life insurance policy.) 🤭 Well it was off to the side a bit actually. So we were safe. When I looked up Tahiti in my research it listed as the number one risk going there for tourists as getting hit on the head with coconuts! There apparently is so little crime that qualifies as the biggest risk.

When I went to Barbados years ago, we were fortunate that our hotel room looked onto the beach. Early every morning, a worker (and his dog) went to the beach to knock coconuts out of the palm trees. He shook the trees, and also climbed up to chop the coconuts down. We were still cautioned, though, about being directly under the palm trees.

Yesterday we spent the morning reading in the quiet beach area. We weren't actually on the beach but in a gazebo on the rise just above the beach. The view was lovely and you could hear the waves. After a small lunch of sharing a pizza we made our way to the spa for our couples massage. VEEEERY relaxing! It was such a deep massage and it really took ALL the tension and kinks out of my neck and shoulders. Dan said it was way better than the other massages we've had. When our massages were done they brought us a fruit/cheese platter with glasses of champagne while we sat on a balcony and watched the waves roll in. By the time it was over it was about 4:30, so we went back to the quiet beach, which was completely empty by then and did some more reading until it was time to shower and go off to dinner. The night was really pleasant and the humidity was way lower than the past few nights so after dinner we went for a long walk along the pier. It was Friday night and the weather was so great, loads of people were outside playing cards. Tomorrow I'll check out when and where to excursion to the caves will be happening. Here's some pix of Dan and I having our champagne, an interesting hook in our gazebo, our flower strewn bed and the view from our morning reading spot... imgur.com/a/ubBHf9V

We booked our trip to the Green Grotto Caves for Wednesday. And tomorrow we're going to a Cove about 1/2 hour away to swim with the Dolphins! Today is just another laid-back day of swimming and watching the pelicans fish right in front of us! We're going to enquire about renting snorkeling equipment after lunch. imgur.com/a/9uN7lnw

I've made arrangements to go on a couple of excursions next week - one to a beautiful cave and another to swim with Dolphins.
I got the snorkeling stuff and we've already went out once, but we definitely will go back in before we hand the masks in at 5 pm
We saw a number of colorful fish right up close!

This morning we went to the Green Grotto Caves. Very lovely and interesting too. The area was called "Runaway Bay because it was a favourite path for the Runaway slaves from the sugar plantations. The Green Grotto Caves provided access points to underground tunnels where the water seeped through the rocks. Part of the Caves were actually a nightclub during the 1970s.
