Returning to BC’s
He was attached to a Lowery film! But it didn’t happened because Lowery preferred to do a Disney film! Bad luck!

Another post about The Academy articles, (sorry!) wouldn’t be great if the bit about Raimi asking BC to watch Paper Moon allegedly for Doctor Strange becomes viral and a lot of comic book sites write about it and then a mob of fanboys search and watch Bogdanovich film!

Paper Moon is such a good movie! It’s interesting that the article has a colour photo of it when the movie was in black and white. I thought Benedict would mention something about it not being in colour in his explanation, but he doesn’t.

That movie would not be made today! Can you imagine having a 10 year old actress smoking these days? Not to mention how she pimps out Tricia Delight to get rid of her, lol. Such a great movie. The banter between Ryan and Tatum was perfect, and a trifle risqué at the time the movie came out.

I watched it decades ago! It’s a great little movie although I remember that I preferred The Last Picture Show which I also haven’t watched it in years!

The Last Picture Show was excellent! Yeah, Paper Moon is Peter Bogdanovich second most celebrated film after TLPS. He was always great but transformed himself in this bigger than life film historian that you find everywhere. His was a huge lost for cinema!

Imo it’s a must watch. The Last Picture Show is also brilliant.

I have a vivid memory of watching Paper Moon on tv with my mother a long time ago. She loved it! I think it helped, too, that Ryan O’Neal was gorgeous. Ha! To this day, she will still occasionally refer to the conman schemes in the movie, which she thought were brilliant.
Another fabulous Ryan O’Neal/Peter Bogdanovich movie is What’s Up, Doc? - another movie on my list of favourite movies of all time.
