Jimmy Kimmel does these segments all the time, asking people on the street their opinions on absolute nonsense. People always fall for it! They look at “cancel culture” and this year’s Oscars here. TPOTD is mentioned, with a question about Benedict at 2:07, and about Kirsten Dunst at 2:40. But the whole video is hilarious!

That’s nice but it would had been nicer if he did it during the Oscar campaign. Anyway, good for him!

In the comments to that Deadline article, SE continues to get support from people who agreed with him and hated the movie. I hope this is finally over now!

Good for Sam. Restores my faith in him. He shot off his mouth, realized he said hurtful things, and apologized. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I don’t know why it made me laugh to see BC’s name there! I wonder why he highlighted him. Maybe because he is the most famous actor in the film and the first who reacted but TBF the worst thing he said about him was that he wore a pair of chaps! Maybe because he suggested that he looked like a chippendale? But I guess a lot of men would feel flattered that someone said that about them! Lol

Jane Campion was asked about it in lots of interviews - whether she thought the movie would have been different with Elisabeth Moss instead of Kirsten Dunst. I remember her saying something like KD making Rose more girlie and delicate and fragile than Rose from the novel. With an Oscar nomination, obviously the casting was perfect in the end.
