Which is the correct translation? Maybe that could be the new title! 😉

TBH meanwhile I read all the precautions they took, I thought in the fact that the cast and director went to a few bars two days before they restarted the production! LOL Of course, the situation in New Zealand was very controlled then and BC and Campion were in the country for months meanwhile Dunst and Plemons had already finished a quarantine and were tested so there wasn't anything wrong with that but most people reading the piece would think in their own national situations and imagine all those strict measures when in reality, they were going to jazz concerts and drinking expensive wines!
The bad new is that Auckland is again in level 4. It's mentioned in the article that after 102 days without any local case, they found a family who didn't have any idea about how they got sick. It says most films there were in pre-production so they continued working from their homes. Luckily, Campion and co. could finished the movie before this.

Brief mention in this interview with young filmmaker Claire Van Beek. She is promoting her short film Daniel and worked as Jane Campion's assistant in The Power of the Dog. She says she has seen some of the footage and that it going to be "an extremely special film" www.rnz.co.nz/audio/player?audio_id=201875721223:20

Slightly surprised that it's on The Daily Mail! TBH I thought that if BC or his people would had made something similar, the British press would be making a big fuss about it! After all he had to explain them why he was staying in New Zealand and not in his own country during the quarantine a few months ago! But I couldn't imagine American press hungry for attacking Dunst and Plemons and then, The Daily Mail happened! There are 5 comments right now but not all of them are negative (a few of them think Dunst is pretty) and no one mentions Syrian refugees!
I don't think it's that bad what they tried to do. Probably it could be done in a safety way but some of the phrasing is just awful (the movie couldn't be finished if they do the quarantine in a hotel room?) and there is the little issue that a similar but more urgent case didn't ended well, a pair of sisters were granted a special permission to enter the country without doing the quarantine because their father was dying but then it was discovered that at least one of them had Covid-19. I don't think they were the ones that triggered the new local cases but the NZ government was strongly criticized then.
I wonder if James Cameron asked for something similar. He is much more bigger than.. well, anyone!
EDITED Also I think NZ Government was absolutely right in refusing it. Nothing bad with asking but it would had been wrong to agreed.
