I do wish more of this interview will appear eventually but this is an adorable part!

I was wondering, too, why they showed less than a minute of what must have been a much longer interview. We know that Benedict must have talked for ten minutes for each question he was asked!

I suppose since it just happened this morning there will hopefully be more excerpts coming along later (maybe on YouTube or some such place). They probably just didn't want to give out the whole interview right away - that way the folks who woke up early to see it this morning feel like they got the jump on the rest of us! LOL! Just look at how long it took TheCultureTrip to dole out all of their interviews with B. Wong and BC. I have listened to that one little excerpt dozens of times already! I just think he seemed so relaxed and radiant. And he got a good chuckle out of the fact that the interviewer wanted to shake his hand for basically getting his wife pregnant (I think it is more traditional to shake someone's hand after the baby is born, I guess!). :-))

Well, here you go - the complete interview from GMB - Absolutely charming from start to finish! I love this guy so much. He is so chatty (just like you thought he would be Mllemass ) the way he is grabbing and mauling that pillow! LOL! He is a fidget isn't he! :-))

I stayed up and watched it as it aired, and they only showed that one little clip. I was hoping for more or different when they repeated the story later in the show, but it was the same both times.

Wow! So they only put the entire interview up in video form after the fact. Interesting.
Hope you enjoyed it. I did notice that in the clipped version there were C/U of BC's face from different angles, where as in the long, full version it was just a 2-shot of them on the settee, continuous camera work with no edits (more like raw footage). I really enjoyed see that whole interview with all the context of the conversation (especially the part where BC initiates the mention of how important Of a change in his life his family has been and how his friends and family keep him grounded against the perils of fame). But I did appreciate the close-ups of BC's expressions in that shorter version as well. So both had their advantages!

It looks like they did the fancy editing with close-ups only for short clip they showed on tv, but they didn't bother with the full version. I think, though, that somewhere they have the whole interview entirely filmed in close-up. I'd love to see that!

I think, though, that somewhere they have the whole interview entirely filmed in close-up. I'd love to see that! Ditto Mllemass! Indeed! May I ask - what makes you think that the whole interview was filmed in close-up as well? Just a feeling? Or is it something you heard? I only say this because it really wouldn't be usual for a TV production to do that (from what I understand of TV production work - limited as it is). But, boy oh boy, I certainly would LOVE it if they had done that and they let us see it. :-))

I'm guessing that the close-ups were done with a different camera, unless they shot the interview more than once, from different angles.
I once attended a filmmaking workshop (put on by TIFF) where they showed us how to use 3-4 iPhones to film events so that they look professionally done. If there was a camera on Benedict's face, it was there the whole time. I think they also had close-ups of the interviewer in the short clip, so it looks like they had three cameras going during the interview.
