I just wanted to wish all my “board mates” the best possible Christmas in these strange times. I hope you & your families and friends have a safe and happy time and a healthy 2021.
I do enjoy our conversations on here and they’ve been especially important throughout this bizarre year. Knowing that people from so many different parts of the world are all going through this together so to speak gives a real sense of community and mutual support.
I shall be spending Christmas Eve to Boxing Day (Or St Stephen’s Day as we call it here) with my family. After that it’s back to lockdown - possibly until Spring the politicians tell us by which time the vaccine roll out should have achieved critical mass levels on inoculation.
I hope wherever, however and with whoever you’re spending this holiday season, it is a good one.
Looking forward to a 2021 that finally sees the back of this wretched virus.

And Happy Christmas to you too, Ellie!
Christmas this year is going to be Dan and myself on our own. My sister left Ontario and travelled to Vancouver, British Columbia over a month ago and won't be coming back until sometime in mid-January. She's helping out with child care until her daughter gets her little boy into a programme. My brother-in-law, Marc stayed behind in Windsor (he's the one that has leukemia and had a quadruple heart bypass last January) because he's very high risk and couldn't travel - so he's by himself too, in Windsor Ontario. Usually we would be getting together with them both for Boxing Day.
Since both Dan and my parents are now deceased, the other people we usually spend Christmas with are our closest friends, who live about an hour and a half drive away, and this year that is not happening, of course. We saw them last in late November to exchange gifts and will be keeping in touch by phone. No visits until the spring.
Our area goes into almost total lockdown as of Boxing Day. But Dan and I have been personally living lockdown since this whole thing happened last March, so it won't make any difference to us.
But I have the house all decorated and the gifts are under the tree and I'm cooking up a whole turkey anyway (both Dan and I LOVE turkey!) And I am determined to have our own merry Christmas time!👍🎅🎄
I was even fortunate enough to find a bottle of REAL French champagne for New Year's!!!🍾🥂🎉 and another one for my birthday in early January 🍾🎁🥳🎂🍰!
I don't expect the vaccine to be in our town until mid-summer so this is the way our lives will be for awhile yet. At least when the spring comes we can do socially distanced visits outdoors again!
But until then, it's just Dan and me on our own! Along with all my internet friends here!! Which, this year has become a bit of a lifeline really! You guys are my only connection to the wider world that I would normally get through many channels.
So THANK YOU EVERYONE SO VERY MUCH and MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY HOLIDAYS and STAY SAFE!! ❤❤❤

My best wishes to everyone also for a lovely Christmas and a blessed New Year!
I live alone (well, there’s my cat Binky, too), so it’s going to be a very quiet day. I usually trade Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays with my bestie and her husband so it’s not horribly lonely, but we’re all in strict lockdown now. Kind of a tough year, and I’m looking forward to the vaccine rolling out next year, not to mention getting a new president. Yay! Prolly won’t get around to having my number called until April/May so more hunkering down to do. I’m not even sure how it’s going to work. We have a lottery in my state for the vaccine but I don’t know what happens, lol.
I absolutely live for my online communities, so thank you all for being here and sharing over the years. Y’all been a godsend! 🥰🤗
And next year we’re going to have so much BC content we’re not going to know what to do with ourselves! Just think about all those glorious promos, not to mention the movies themselves. Can’t wait! 😃
Big, squishy cuddles to everyone!

This will be the first time in my life that we won’t be having our Christmas meal together with my parents. We’ll still have the same food - I’ll bring some dishes there, and my mother will send some dishes here.
My sister announced a while ago that we won’t be exchanging gifts this year, but since I shop for Christmas all year long, I had already bought gifts for everyone. So my sister will be getting tons of gifts from me (as always), and I will be getting nothing from her. I guess I’ll just sit quietly watching her unwrapping her presents. I should add that she orders stuff online all the time. We get Amazon packages arriving every day, but I guess it’s just stuff for herself.
I really shouldn’t complain though! I’m grateful that we have all remained covid-free so far. Yesterday, my sister was in a bit of a panic thinking she might have a fever. We experienced a comical hour trying to figure out how to use our ear thermometer - finding batteries for it, how to insert it - until I found the instructions. Her temperature is within the “normal” range, so she panicked for no reason.
Thanks to everyone here for giving me a bit of an escape from everything! I’m looking forward to new Benedict movies, premieres, interviews, photos.
Merry Christmas!

We will just be staying in and doing Christmassy things. I took my younger son ice skating today, and then we watched a holiday movie. Tomorrow, when we would usually go to my brother-in-law's Christmas Eve brunch, we will attend via Zoom instead. Sadly, my stepmom had emergency heart bypass surgery last week and is still in the hospital, so we won't be seeing her or my Dad. I've been doing video calls with them. Thank goodness for Zoom, and the internet, this year! Happy holidays to everyone!

Merry Christmas! A week ago, the weather forecasters said it was unlikely that we would have a white Christmas this year. They defined “white Christmas” as 1-2 cm of snow on the ground, and snow lightly falling. We had rain most of this week, but then it started snowing yesterday afternoon, and is supposed to continue until tomorrow afternoon. This was the view from my upstairs window earlier this morning.
