It doesn’t look too promising so far for getting TIFF tickets, but I’m trying to remain calm and hopeful.
I signed into the website as soon as they opened, and an hour later I’m still in line behind 2000 people. This will take all day, which I don’t mind as long as I end up with tickets in the end!

I’m hoping all those people are trying get tickets for Dune or Spencer. Ha!
The problem this year is that there’s limited seating in the theatres, of course, so that they can keep social distancing.
My sister tried to reassure me that lots of those people ahead of me will get tired of waiting and leave the line, speeding it up for me. I hope she’s right!

I’ve now been in line for tickets for 2 hours, and there are still 1302 people ahead of me. It looks like I’m half-way there!
I had a scary moment when my iPad told me I was no longer connected to the internet. Stupid internet service! Panicking, I quickly got back online, refreshed the page, and luckily I was right back at the same spot in line. What a relief!
I suspect it’s going to happen again, and maybe the next time it won’t hold my spot - another thing to worry about now! If that happens, I will sit here crying. If I don’t end up getting tickets, I will sit here crying. If I do get tickets, I will also sit here crying! There will be crying no matter what!

Another hour, another update!
It’s counting down much faster now, with “only” 286 people ahead of me.
So the next time you hear from me, I will have good news to share!

Success! Thank God that’s over!
I bought the tickets I wanted: TPOTD on Friday September 10 at 5:00 pm, Louis Wain on Saturday September 11 at 9:30 pm, and digital screenings to watch from home for both movies on Friday September 17.
I couldn’t figure out the seating for TPOTD. It took me forever, and then when I finally chose something, it told me it was no longer available. And finally, it wouldn’t let me buy a single seat. They give you a warning beforehand about that! Tickets are sold either as singles or couples, with an empty seat or two in between. But if you select a seat at the end of a row and no one else can buy the seat beside you, you must buy both. It took me so long that the single seat options were gone, so I had to buy two seats!
So, if any of you would like to join me, let me know!

I forgot to mention that I wanted to get a ticket for the digital viewing of the In Conversation interview with Benedict, but I didn’t see it listed. We were told, though, that it would be free for TIFF members, so I’ll probably get an email about it. They’re still focussing on the Kristen Stewart interview right now.
