That clip has been removed from Reddit. We’ll just have to take Jeffrey Wells’s word that it’s bad. Ha!

It looks like kind of a mess to me, but it might be good. I have a problem with movies set in a time I lived through, because I can’t help thinking “We didn’t act like that back then” .
I was a bit younger than those actors are, but I had sandals just like the ones the girl is wearing in that one scene (I was 7 when I had them, though). And when I was 11, I had that red dress with the white collar and cuffs on my sleeves. My mother had made the dress, and I wore it in my grade 6 class picture. My friend had on a dress almost identical to mine in the picture!

It gave me Almost Famous and Dazed and Confused vibes.

It gave me Almost Famous and Dazed and Confused vibes. Those are also movies I’ve never been interested in seeing.

Ha! Dazed and Confused is one of my favorite films ever. I kind of racy American teen comedy but filmed like a New Wave film.

Oh just seeing that director’s name gave me an almost visceral response. I don’t think I’ve ever hated a film as much as I have hated Boyhood. At least no other one I’ve watched all the way to the end. Interesting premise? Maybe. A good performance or two? Sure. But many aspects of it and the film itself? Nope nope nope!
