Emma Stone said she was holding the card that had her name on it, lol!
Whatever. It was a great Oscars. Kimmel did a fab job. The bits with him and Matt Damon were hilarious, as usual. The tourists! The candy from the ceiling! It was a delight, even with the error.
The only complaint I had was I wished Denzel had won. He's been one of my faves forever, and Fences was such a labor of love for him.

It's a shame dr Strange didn't win, though. The Jungle Book had excellent effects, to be sure, but we have seen it before, with Planet of Apes, for example. In dr Strange they created something really new and original.

Superhero movies are the Rodney Dangerfield of film entertainment. They don't get no respect.

I love Scott Deririkson's sense of humour.
I know it ultimately wasn't their fault but you would think either Warren Beatty or Faye Dunnaway would have copped on to the fact they had the wrong card. I mean when it named an actress as winner you're clearly not looking at the "Best Picture" result.
Oh well these things happen.

PWC has taken the blame. Probably some poor law/economy student trainee who got the gig of their life driving an envelope around LA and bollocksed it up big time. Well, "these things happen" (although no they don't really lol.)

I love the hilarious tweets about the big Oscar mix-up, including this one from Scott Derrickson: SD seems to have a wicked sense of humour! I love that tweet! :-))
