It was an excellent Oscar ceremony. The naked John Cena was funny, everyone seemed in a good mood, nothing too cringy happened, and with the exception of Lily Gladstone, the right people won.

I just watched Poor Things, and didn't care much for it. I'm disappointed that Killers of the Flower Moon didn't win more. Haven't seen Oppenheimer yet.

I haven’t seen Poor Things or Killers of The Flower Moon. I thought the acting in Oppenheimer was superb but didn’t much like the film. I’m not a big Christopher Nolan fan. I really liked The Holdovers & thought Divine Joy Randolph deserved her win and that Paul Giamati ran Cillian Murphy an incredibly close second for Best Actor. Overall I think this years awards were given to the right people. Not sure about best actress because I didn’t see either Lily Gladstone or Emma Stone’s performances. Worst dress of the night for me was a tie between Emily Blint’s bizarre underpants/floating straps effort and Ariane Grande who looked like she was being eaten by a giant blancmange.

Since I’ve been following Derek the menswear guy on Twitter I’m learning so much about proper suits for men, fabric, cut, and fit, drape, and what’s stylish and looks great. That said, I think The Rock had the worst outfit of the night. The material looked cheap, it wasn’t cut or fitted well, and he looked like a 200 pound man stuffed in a 150 pound suit. I also agree, Ellie, about Emily Blunt’s dress. I don’t understand floating straps like that - it just looks like the dress doesn’t fit and is riding up. 🤷🏻♀️

I glanced at the red carpet pix of the fashions and most of them seemed ridiculous IMO.
I hate dresses that stick out in odd places. Like overly goofy, overly wide, overly high, etc.
Can you image sitting beside or behind the woman (like Florence Pugh or Sandra Hüller) that's wearing one of those monstrosities?!?
Thank goodness Sophie wears clothes that range from absolutely gorgeous to nice. Nothing that would put someone's eye out or take up 3 seats! And she doesn't look dowdy or matronly either. I think I have at least dozen of her red carpet looks that are my all time favourites!
