That's pretty much the nature of Doctor Who. By changing the main actor and his companions the show can re-invent itself regularly. I think it's probably because of this that it has stayed alive for so long. Good thing they managed to invent an in-show reason for re-casting the main character, normally re-casting just disrupts a show completely. I'm afraid though that this series 10 will kind of be pure filler though. The new showrunner will probably do another "soft reboot" so this series will just be a stand-alone. It would be nice though if Bill will stay, cause I think I am going to like her a lot. Did you know that the original creator - Sydney Newman - of Doctor Who in the 1960s was also Canadian? So although it's such a quintessentially British show, we can all thank Canada for it hehe.

What do you think about Kris Marshall for next Doctor?
I saw an "article" two days ago, I think, which I didn't post because it looked so fake and baity. Now many other sites are using it.

I don't know anything about Kris Marshall, I saw his pic and my first thought was "meh, boring." I read an article about him being 13 which was something like "they [Chibnall, BBC] want a Doctor similar to David Tennant" which I interpreted as "younger-looking and handsomer boyfriend Doctor so his young lady companions can lust after him" which is about the last thing I want to see. Marshall isn't as pretty as Tennant anyways lol (I don't think Matt Smith is good-looking either though so who knows.) Tom Ellis was rumored at some point, now he's a handsome one...he always reminds me of a hotter version of Jon Bernthal haha. I don't particularly care for genderbending the Doctor, he's been male for over 50 years so why he'd suddenly need to be female, I don't know. I'm not opposed to it though, I just hope they won't do it just to tick a box and use "look how progressive we are!!" as PR. There were tons of articles recently about Bill being the first openly gay companion and I'm like, did I drop down some alternate universe rabbit hole where Captain Jack is straight? Jack's the most openly not-straight character ever! Lol. I'm bored of BBC tooting their own horn about how awesomely progressive they are especially when they're lying while doing it, and if 13 was to be a woman we'd never hear the end of it. They'd probably infuse the show with stupid gender-related jokes for the next year... If they cast someone like Tilda Swinton that'd be awesome, but she's pretty unique and waaaaaay too famous for the role. I don't have a fancast, but out of the rumors I've seen Richard Ayoade would be cool. He's handsome (so "they" will get what they need) but also has great hair and hipster-y glasses so he's set to be The Doctor already. Or if not him then someone properly ginger since the Doc himself wants to be ginger haha. Of course Danny Dyer, the eternal attention-seeker, is interested in the role too. Danny Dyer eyes up Doctor Who role and thinks he could 'easily' be a Time Lord

I don't really know anything about him, either, but I don't think he's boring. He was memorable in Love, Actually, and before that I remember him from a British sitcom that I used to watch. And more recently, I saw him in Death in Paradise. I didn't know his name, though, until these Doctor Who rumours started going around. It seems like he often plays quirky characters, so I can see why he's being named as a possible Doctor.

I searched for the article I saw first and it was from The Sun and it wasn't the first one. They've been writing about him for some time. Apparently KM announced he was leaving Death in Paradise at the same time Capaldi announced he was leaving Doctor Who. So the "fans" (and with this I mean someone tweeted about it) according to The Sun deduced he left DiP to play DW. They are reporting they are already filming but it is The Sun... I looked for bets (British bet for anything?) and there are reports from February where Tilda was the favourite followed by other 3 women and Richard Ayoade (as reported by Forbes). At a broker as per today Kris Marshall is first. No way Tilda is going to take DW. I think it is a pity Capaldi is going but imo his first series wasn't good and there was little chemistry between him and Clara/Jenna. He was memorable in Love, Actually I so much hate Love Actually and for me one of the worst "episodes" was the one with KM. Lol.

It was my first time watching the show, but I thought they had a great relationship and were wonderful together.
I loved the movie! This was certainly one of the sillier storylines, but even still, I was impressed that it didn't end the way I was expecting as I watched it.

Well, Moffat's era has almost ended. I didn't watch all series 10 but I caught the last two episodes live.
Here is an interview with Moffat and another with Rachel Talalay who I found very nice and competent although I didn't like T6T (specially Mary's death).

I was so disappointed that The Doctor didn't regenerate at the end of S10. I thought it'd be amazing to not know who the new one is in advance. I avoided all mentions of DW for weeks during the series just so I could go into the finale blind but eh, of course it didn't happen. No way will I be able to not hear about the new Doctor until Christmas so I guess surprises aren't something we can have anymore. :/

I am a casual, as the TJLC people say, and I generally don't mind with spoilers. So I like they are announcing the next Doctor.
I didn't watch all episodes of season 10. I missed one or two. I watch the last two.
