Sherlock has 4 nominations - for Benedict, for Outstanding Television Movie, for Sound Editing and for Sound Mixing.
It's a shame that cinematography, writing, directing and music weren't nominated. This is one of the reasons I want Sherlock to return for S5 - it has to win these awards!

Yay for Sherlock and yay for Benedict!
I don't really care, at the moment, if he wins (but of course I will care the night of the winners being announced). To be nominated is a wonderful indication that he is in a pretty prestigious group of actors and there will be lots of PR mileage that can be got from this. Especially since he has a number of upcoming TV projects on his calendar. Just think in the nature we may see him nominated for things as a producer as well! That's what I am really looking forward to.
Being nominated can never hurt, so this is a day for happiness as far as I am concerned.
:-))

Congrats to Benedict! As for the other things you mentioned mllemass, I don't know how they all work. But I know regular shows can't be nominated for the score if they use the same motifs every season. Like Ramin Djawadi comes up with the most fantastic of music but never gets nominated because GoT does have its own running theme that's woven into most of the pieces, and Sherlock does the same. Like Who You Really Are is phenomenal but it incorporates the "Sherlock beat" into it (what is flawlessly in my eyes, and disqualifyingly in the Emmys eyes.) It's a ridiculous rule, might as well say no actor can be nominated twice because they "play the same role" every season.

Delighted BC got nominated. The Lying Detective was a terrific piece of work from him. Haven't seen any of the other nominees performances but there's some big names in there.

It has been nominated for music before, and it won for His Last Vow, so it must be eligible.

I've seen Ruiz Ahmed, John Turturro, and Robert DeNiro and they were all excellent. Tough category.

Great to see Robert DeNiro back on form because he's made some horrible movies not nearly worthy of his talent in recent years.

I watched DeNiro and he was very good, of course. It was an understated performance. I haven't seen the others, but I'm pleased as punch about BC being nominated! Five time Emmy nominee! That's my man. 😍
