Do they mean that Sherlock is a "mess" and "subpar", too? I'm sure he meant the HBO shows. He probably only saw those HBO messes and had nothing in particular to say about Sherlock, Black Mirror or that "Dolly Parton-inspired Christmas movie." Sherlock S4 got mixed reviews but as far as I know San Junipero (the Black Mirror episode) got praise so I doubt he'd label it "a mess" without watching it. By the way I haven't seen those HBO shows so can't say whether they were messes or not haha. I've only seen Sherlock and San Junipero (which was beautiful and made me cry happy tears.)

I didn't watch all the episodes of Black Mirror from this season, only the first one, but I liked BM very much. I like the one with the pig, it is suppose to make you unconfortable not because the PM was fucking a pig but how he was driven to that situation and why he accepted to do it. Also David Cameron. I just don't get the Twilight Zone comparison but I watched very few of those episodes.

I've only seen 2 episodes of Black Mirror at all. I watched '15 Million Merits' because I have an eternal crush on Jessica Brown Findlay, and then 'San Junipero' because I heard so much of it. 15MM was great but it wasn't "wow" for me, San Junipero was just sheer perfection. I got kind of inspired by the Emmy nod (as in, reminded that oh yeah I've still got lots of Black Mirror to watch!) to get back to it, I think I'll watch some episode tonight. What is your favorite episode Magdalena? Maybe I'll watch that one. But not the pig one please haha I'll watch it some day but I'm not feeling it right now.

I'm sure I've seen every episode of the Twilight Zone. It was from the early days of tv, so of course it was in reruns when I saw it. It's a classic, and Black Mirror seems to be a modern version of it.
That pig episode didn't make me feel uncomfortable - it made me feel sick. It turned me off of ever watching any more of it. It's just not for me!

It turned me off of ever watching any more of it. It's just not for me! I haven't seen the pig episode but there's no way San Junipero (the Emmy-nominated episode) could make anyone sick. Try that one if you ever reconsider visiting Black Mirror. All the episodes are self-standing, they may have common themes but not necessarily anything more than that.

I love BM, but the 1st season was the best, IMO. I still liked the other two seans, but some themes became a bit ripetitive. San Junipero was great, though.

I'm so happy that BC got a nomination !!! I just recently rewatched the Lying Detective and he really is brilliant.
